Grizzly Salmon Oil Cat Food Supplement Omega 3 Fatty Acids, 4 oz

I have a large black cat and he has dry skin. It can be pretty visible due to dandruff on his black fur. I feed him dry food (DONT COME FOR ME, HE LIVES A GOOD LIFE AND ITS GOOD DRY FOOD). He started developing some extra dry skin on his back and even had some scabs. I took him to the vet and he was just diagnosed with dry skin or potential allergies. They recommended an expensive prescription bottle of omega oil to add to his food. I would do anything for my cat but I thought I would give this oil a try first before I invested in the prescription. A couple weeks later I am so glad I made that decision. Firstly, he’s obsessed with the oil and even waits for the squirt on his food before chowing down. Secondly I noticed a MASSIVE change in his coat. I’ve never see him shinier and he’s so soft! 10/10 recommend and I’ll be buying more

About 2 months ago we adopted a lovely 6-year-old medium-haired cat from a private party. Suzy has adapted very well to her new home and is very sweet and well behaved. The first week or two we worked through the initial new-home issues with her occasional panics about new people, vacuuming, etc. She has been on a healthy diet she likes. So everything was fine after 2 weeks except the shedding was driving me crazy. Within about 3 weeks of adding a few drops of this salmon oil to her food, her shedding is about 1/4 what it was for the first several weeks! Her fur is so soft and silky now too. And less dander, less itching. It's unbelievable. I don't think the change has anything to do with seasons or weather, as she is an indoor cat and the AC temperature has been the same every day since she moved in (it's summer now). The only answer is the salmon oil. I am so grateful, as the heavy shedding was really, really bugging me (I was brushing her 2-4 times a day, with thick clumps of dry hair coming off her and fur constantly blowing around the house). HIGHLY recommend this product, will continue to order it - but it will probably last quite awhile, as only a few drops a day made a huge difference. My only issue is that the bottle doesn't have an expiration date (perhaps it was on the box, which was tossed). So I am going to ask the supplier. Be sure to check the box, in case the expiration or sell-by date is on it. And keep the bottle in the fridge.

I normally give Welactin by Nutramax Labs to my 14 year old Maine Coon, but I decided to try this and save a little money. Some reviews said that the cat version had rosemary in it - some legitimate web sites say rosemary could be toxic to cats. I wanted to get the scoop directly from Grizzly Pet Products and received this in an email:From Grizzly Pet Products: "We used to add a refined rosemary extract to the salmon oil which acted as an antioxidant against free radicals once ingested. In some states, rosemary extract is not allowed as an antioxidant but only as a flavor additive. The extract we added was a partial extract that was well below the levels allowed in pet foods, so safety was not a concern. We are now relying on the natural levels of antioxidants found in the oil, which means we no longer add rosemary extract to our Grizzly Salmon Oil.The amount of EPA and DHA in one pump of our Grizzly Salmon Oil depends onthe size of the bottle. Below is a list of the amount of EPA and DHA perpump for each bottle size:4oz = 205mg DHA, 185mg EPA8oz = 205mg DHA, 185mg EPA16oz = 355mg DHA, 320mg EPA32oz = 355mg DHA, 320mg EPA64oz = 355mg DHA, 320mg EPA"So there you have it. One of my cats seemed to have a little bit of dry skin this summer, and this product was recommended to me to help her skin and her coat. I used the recommended amount on the side of the bottle. My cats HATE IT. They won't eat or go near their food bowl, they hate it so much. They'll sit about two feet away from a FULL food bowl and howl at me like it's empty, because they won't eat it. I gave it a day at first just figuring hey, it's something new, there's a period of adjustment, right? They'll cave in and eat it. Nope! Won't touch it. And now that I've cleaned their bowls and given them fresh food without this stuff on it, they're eating but still nervous and cautious, like they're afraid it's going to be on there.

I've been giving this salmon oil to my 10 year old cat for a few months now. I will say that I am truly grateful for the changes it's made for him. He has several issues from being injured by a dog when he was a baby, and he can be very picky when it comes to fishy tastes. He loves this oil so much he almost refuses food without it. The problem is the bottle. It leaks from the first pump. This mama does not like the smell one bit, and it doesn't take much for me to be smelling it whenever I go in the kitchen, or on my hands even after I wash them. If anyone from the company is reading this, PLEASE fix the pump so that it doesn't leak and stink up the house!

My cat recently had a case of acute pancreatitis, and I started feeding her tuna and all kinds of “junk” cat food just to entice her to eat. So, after 15 years of refusing to eat any kind of canned food, she suddenly decided that’s all she would eat, well after the pancreatitis was alleviated. Of course, since SHE was eating canned food, my other cat started feeling entitled, as well, so both were eating that instead of and/or in addition to their usual Royal Canin prescription diet. They both had allergic reactions. It was a fairly simple fix for my boy cat, because he was still okay with the dry food, but my older cat had developed a preference for ONLY the very tasty seafood canned food. So I knew I was going to have to try to just treat her allergies so she would continue to eat. I came across this stuff and it has been a Godsend! I haven’t even seen what it can do for their allergies yet, but squirting this on my cats’ food has now attracted my cat BACK to her old prescription dry food! That, in and of itself, will clear up her allergy problems! I’m sure her patches of missing fur will soon begin to grow back, as well! So, we are all happy!
