Comforting
Lower back pain is slowing me down. I’m not keen to take pills repeatedly and tried a Tens unit, but that was a hassle to attach to my lower back. This I simply wrap around me and switch on. It has two buttons that each light up when you press each for a couple of seconds. They start off red, which is the highest level. One sets the vibration level, the second the heat level. They are completely independent functions.I put the belt on my skin, as the heating effect seemed tame through a cotton shirt. Pressing the heat button again turns down the heat, the button now glows green, but I found that unnecessary for me. Pressing and holding the button turns the heat off. The other button turns on the vibration to continuous mode when pressed and held. It glows red. A quick second press and the button turns green, the vibration occurs at the same level but now pulses in repeated short bursts. I find that the most stimulating. A third longer press turns off the vibration and the button light extinguishes. If either vibration and/or heat functions are on a small strip light between the buttons also illuminates to show the charge state of the battery. The battery itself is located in a pocket on the belt and is best removed for recharging. You have to use the supplied charging cable, which plugs into any usb 2amp adapter, including the one that comes with it. This cable actually has a wart on it that steps up the usb 5v to the 7.2v required for the battery. Don’t lose the cable, although the belt and accessories come in a sturdy box that is good for storing everything in.It has no timer and will run until the battery is discharged. I use it in 30-40 minute sessions and it has been good for 5 sessions before recharges.I think it has helped me, although my problem is relieved, not resolved.

What a brilliant design!
I have a fantastic new toy - uhhhh, medical appliance - this lumbar back brace that heats up and massages. But first, the story of how I came to need such a device. So, when I was young, our neighborhood was everybody’s playground. Neighbors, families, and friends all expected that we’d play everywhere all the time, and nobody thought anything about it. Thus it was that I found myself alone on the 2nd story back patio of our neighbor's house across the street. I got the bright idea that I’d slide down the bannister gracefully from the 2nd floor, and float all the way to the ground. What a great idea! It would be fun! It would be epic, and it surely was!For reasons known only to a part of my brain where I don’t dare venture any longer, I decided that the best way to accomplish my fabulous goal was to dangle myself over the outside of the long staircase, with my legs hanging off the thing. I should mention that the “banister” consisted of a wrought iron tube about an inch in diameter - not exactly a firm foundation to be using for sitting and sliding. But since I was invincible, what could possibly go wrong? That turned out to be a rather longer list than I anticipated. I positioned myself perfectly, aimed straight down the banister, and pushed off with carefree abandon. Yeee-haaa! Unfortunately, I didn’t quite understand the physics of a human trying to slide down that narrow a thing. Instead of gliding elegantly to the ground two floors down, I fell off at the very top. So not cool! But wait! There’s more! I fell big time, and landed flat on my back on a cast iron manhole cover in the back yard. It had a big iron u-shaped handle that connected rather dramatically with the middle of my back. I didn’t anticipate that thing since the sewer had overflowed, camouflaging it, and can you imagine the splashing goo when I hit the ground?I sat there, stunned, not able to feel anything below my waist, covered in raw sewage, and thinking I’d never slide down another banister because I’d spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair. Or, my Mother would kill me. Pick one. I didn't care. Well, perhaps I overreacted. I knew my Mother would call out the National Guard if I didn’t show up when I was supposed to, so I dragged what was left of myself up the long driveway to the street. Then, I crawled across the street, managed to flop onto the porch, and entered the living room where my Mother was on the couch, casually reading The Sentinel Record newspaper. How I wish you could have seen the look on her face. It was a combination of stark terror, what was that awful smell, and what has she done to herself this time? She said one word, “Shower!” While I was in the shower, she bagged up everything I had been wearing, threw it all away, and bleached the floors. The hot shower helped a lot, and when I got out, she took inventory: big bruise, but the kid’s getting the feeling back in her legs, and she seems to be able to walk around. I don't remember, but she told me later that I flatly refused either a house call from Dr. Rosensweig, or a trip to the ER. She told me years later that she could never get through that story without getting her bridge club roaring with laughter. So, ever since that monumental lapse in judgement, I’ve had the memory of the iron handle firmly stored in the lumbar region of my back. I can usually sit down and get back up without disgracing myself, but lying down is its own reminder of that special moment I bonded with the sewage. I have to let my back “settle in”. It hurts like all get out for the first few seconds, and even more because I have to face the fact that I did it to myself. I’ve never found any way to get relief, UNTIL…This brace I got off Amazon. It heats up to three levels from “gentle warmth” to "invigorating heat" to “keep a fire extinguisher within reach at all times”, and it massages at three settings from “gentle” to "shake a tail feather" to “shall we cause the fillings to fly straight out of your face”? I love it. It has a little rechargeable battery that fits in a beautifully-designed pocket, and it does a fantastic job of making my back feel so much better. I ordered another one for the car, with its own car charger. I also ordered two extra batteries because I’m never taking this sucker off till the end of time! I've asked the company to develop one I can wear in the shower. And I've read that because it uses DC current instead of AC, it poses none of the frightening damage people carp about being in close contact with AC electrical stuff. Furthermore, it says right there in the instruggers, "No way will you ever again be tempted by a neighbor's banister.”Thank you, Amazon, from the bottom of my heart!

Heats great for hours, but bulky
This belt is great for pain relief around the house. The battery lasts as long as I need it, which is three hours or so. I haven't worn it longer so I don't know exactly how long it lasts. The temp controls do tend to change, possibly the button gets depressed when I sit or bend. The belt is really too bulky to wear around, so I only wear it at home.

Whre has this been all my life?
This thing is magic! I got relief from the very first use. Very comfortable. Vibration is spot on to my problem pain area, and the heat is comforting, not harsh or too hot. Battery life is about 4 hours. I am so grateful for this product, which actually helped me to walk without pain!

Love but electrical concerne
This product is amazing and I absolutely love it. It has definitely helped my back when it flares up. I love that the heat setting initially starts on high but automatically reduces to medium after a few min. Hot is far hit enough for me and I usually manually oscillate between medium and low. I don’t use the vibration feature though it works well. This is well built and is a spitting image of my non heated back brace that I use at work. The battery last well long enough, many hours.Cons:I wish the battery had a different placement as it currently sits on my hip and drives into my hip bone. But that may be because I wear it quite low for my almost tail bone low back region.***** Major concern: when charging the battery the plug gets VERY hot. Almost too hot to even pull out of the socket! This is a fire waiting to happen and I only charge it while I am home and nearby to monitor it. This is why I am giving 3 stars rather than 5 which is what it should deserve if it didn’t give me anxiety.
