So Much FUN!
This game is spectacularly fun! But don't take the fact that it has a cute spaceship filled with little tiny ducks fool you. Yes, this game is super-fun, and really easy to learn. Children and adults can certainly play it together... but it will take quite a while to master. Strategy, planning, and watching other players are all necessary skills for play. Equally necessary is a great sense of humor. This game produced some wonderful laughter around our table. I loved the little notes on the bottom of each card... and the instruction book was highly entertaining, which made the learning process easy and fun. So, to recap... a super-cute, fun to play, challenging to master, laughter inducing game with DUCKS! I'd say it checks off all the boxes, and then some.

Family favorite
This has become our family's favorite game! The little ducks are so cute, and the UFO Shaker is adorable. The game is quick and easy to learn, and everyone can play. However, there is so much strategy to it that it is also fun for advanced players. The combination of luck and strategy makes it a game that the entire family can play and enjoy.

Fun and surprisingly strategic game
OK, I thought maybe this was a gimmick game. Super cute with all those little duckies and the UFO to hold them. And, it is a bit pricey, although I could argue that it is in the pricerange for this level of game design. But, then we played it. So much fun! And surprisingly, many strategic options to play. It didn't take long to learn how to play and the rules are clear while having options without being too complicated. For the two of us a game was about 15-20 minutes. We played 3 or 4 games on our first go round. We both think it would be better play with more players, giving more options for impacting your opponent'sgame to give your play a little advantage.

Such a fun, easy-to-learn game!
This game is gorgeously designed and such fun! A lovely 2-person game plus an expansion pack for a great value all in one box. We learned how to play in just one round. The duck storage is so well designed!!

Fun game with cute ducks
This is a fun game and very aesthetically pleasing. The art work is beautiful and the ducks are fun. The game isn't super easy to play, as like many games, there are a lot of directions to read before understanding how to play. My kids and I love it, but we are a thinking bunch who like a challenge and don't mind a complex game. Santa brought this game for Christmas, and we have played it quite a number of times with a bunch of different family members and friends. Not everyone loves it. It is very complex, there is a bit of set up, and there is a lot of reading especially on understanding what you can do with each action card. The object of the game is to create specified patterns with colored ducks to get points. The person with the most points at the end of the game wins. The game ends when the number of pattern cards you choose to use are completed. A simple concept, and a valid game. The difficulty comes in with moving the ducks into the desired pattern. You pick ducks out of the spaceship (which is super fun and cute!!) to use. Trying to achieve the patterns can be frustrating. My sister hates this game as she didn't like having to think for fun and gets frustrated. My sons love it as does my niece. The downsides of this game are that it is not really interactive and it can be slow as each person has to take what can be a lot of time on their turn to try to get their ducks into the pattern with the most points. Sometimes there is also confusion on how the ducks can be moved using the drawn action card. The game can take a long time and can be slow moving.Despite this, we love this game and continue to play it. It is a great game for people who like patterns, spatial manipulation, and involved, thoughtful games! Plus it is a beautifully put together game with nice artwork and hilarious wording. And also, who doesn't love cute mini ducks!!

Quirky and charming pattern-building game
We played this game at a local game cafe earlier this year and liked it so much that I bought it as a gift for my husband. In Abducktion, you try to make patterns of ducks on your board based on pattern cards visible to everyone. In your hand, you have three cards that allow you specific ways to manipulate the order of the ducks. When the game is over and all twelve pattern cards are claimed, you count up points to find the winner. The ducks in this game are charming--they remind me of tiny plastic "rubber duckies," and they're fun to pull in and out of the silicone spacecraft. The cards also have humorous, quirky drawings of ducks being teleported, orbiting, being sucked into a worm hole, etc.Beyond the charm, however, is a thinky game for folks who like spatial puzzles (think Azul, Sagrada, or Calico) and planning a couple steps ahead. It's a relatively quick game, which is a nice change of pace from some longer games we play, but it also has some strategic substance to it. It's also a game our whole family can play.
