My coworker bought this item and we used it to see if it would pick up combustion in the coolant resevoir . It actually did! We had2 2010 toyota prius in the shop . One prius had a check engine light on miss fire cylinder #1 the other prius came in for regular maintenance. Tested the prius with just maintenance work with this detector in the coolant reservoir nothing! Prius with the missfire and by the way coolant reservoir pretty much empty the detector started beeping like crazy and the # went up to 6000-7000. Anyways we like this tool!
