So very impressed!
I can't ever express how incredible this knife is. The deal is amazing! You get a very thick leather sheath with a dangler loop for your belt, that alone is worth the entire price! The knife is gorgeous. The back edge isn't sharpened, a false edge to keep things legal in most areas. If you wanted to sharpen it, it's easy enough. This knife fits my size large hands perfectly, it's so comfortable! I used this for a lot of carving, and the edge stayed very sharp. BPS knives can do some amazing stuff with their steel. This carbon steel is really great and hardened well. I really love this thing and I honestly can't believe how good this deal is. I have knives that are extremely expensive, yet this new one is definitely a favorite. Just buy it yourself and try it, you will love it!

Great Bushcraft/Camp Knife
This is a must have if you are looking for a great bush knife. Made from 3061 high carbon steel, this knife takes and keeps an edge like none of my other 40+ knives. It is hand made by an artisan who obviously cares about his craftmanship. The knife comes wrapped in paper and is pre-oiled out of the box. All I did was some minor clean up, re-oil and she is ready to go. The steel blade is finished to a high shine (looks like stainless steel). The BPS brand is so good I ordered two other models in the BPS lineup.

1st impressions:
I didn't realize that it "appears to be" double edged. The top edge covers about 80% of spine (although it won't slice paper). The next 10% of spine is 90° edge that should be good for lighting sparks with a ferro rod. The nest 10% of spine is the raised/angled jimping. I appreciate jimping, but this is probably the most aggressive jimping of any of my knives. It digs into my thumb...I'll survive. The main edge isn't very sharp out of the box. It slices paper, but not much arm hair. I compared it to my OGK Ridgeback, and the Ridgeback is much sharper. I really like how the wood handle fits my medium hand. The knife also feels very light for it's length. The sheath is quite nice. The extra detail with the stitching is appreciated. I'm glad I bought the knife. It's unlike my several other knives. I did some feather-sticking with it and it was OK. I wouldn't consider it a good choice for bushcrafting due the the sharp areas along spine and over aggressive jimping. Not sure what I'll use it for, but I still like it.

Love BPS
Great ergonomics Beautiful sheath. Incredible value for the money. You are getting some nice handmade craftsmanship. BPS is top notch outfit. I love the low maintenance stainless blade.

Not sharp, poor finish
The knife is not sharp, there is a huge burr rolled over the cutting edge, but therefore the tang that protrudes past the handle is razor sharp …..So this knife right out of the box needs some work …

Sheath + knife = bad marriage.
Sheath too long, only 2 button hex heads anchoring the scales to the tang. Need minimum of 3 flush-fit hex heads so you can afford to lose a screw and not have the scales loosen and flop around. I replaced my button hex heads with flush hex heads and drilled a third hole in the center to add the third set. I also peened around the anchoring threaded anchors with a punch to lock them into the tang so there is no need for two hex keys to loosen one screw. The sheath will be used for a longer knife, as this one is inappropriate for this one. The thumb ramp prevents fully inserting this knife into the sheath without scarring the top of the sheath with the jimping on the ramp. This is a one-size-fits-all approach to sheathes by BPS Knives and I don't like. it.I ended cutting down a spare KBar sheath to fit to this knife and it's working well.Nothing wrong with the blade or the sheath ... they just aren't made for each other.
