Great product. Smells awesome and easy to use.

It has really helped my dry itchy scalp and it smells amazing too.

But in saying that, it can be a newbie's nightmare.This product is everything (and more) that I wanted in a curl refresher. My 4a/3c hair is pretty long and pretty thick (i don't want to make rapunzel jealous, so i'll keep it cute) and it is extremely particular. For the past 7years, I have been making my own products because of this.With that being said, your girl sometimes has an itch— as a reformed product junkie, and sometimes I get curious about what's new. I also love supporting a black-owned businesses. So it's a win for me!The ingredients in this are AMAZING— aloe vera juice, nettle tea, glycerin are all good for hair growth and health. The smell is almost like a berry juice or berry capri-sun. I love it. It lingers but isn't overpowering and pairs well with other scents. I normally get headaches from products (hence why I make my own) and this doesn't give me any headache. When my hair is in a bun, I barely smell it. When it's down, I just smell like fresh berries.As for the learning curve, this product has glycerin. Glycerin is a humectant. It can be tricky. It can be sticky. It can swell your hair strands or make them dry. Why? Glycerin absorbs water molecules from the atmosphere. Unfortunately, if there's none, it will absorb the water from your hair.I combat this by using water or my DIY water mix before. This also helps with stretching the product's use because my hair is already pretty damp before using it. Then using the Oyin spray, I work that through my damp hair helping to "activate" the product. Then I follow it with a water based leave-in. This part is crucial. It isn't a one and done— it definitely adds hydration to the hair but you have to seal that hydration in with an oil, silicone based product or water-based moisturizer.If you are looking for a one product leave-in, this isn't it. But if you are looking for something to compliment and enhance your current routine, this is THAT girl!!No flaking. No residue. Straight hydration. Easily layerable both with product consistency and it's fragrance. Super lightweight. You honestly can't use "too much". I could use this daily but it's been humid so I only use it every couple of days and let the water from the atmosphere keep my curls moist.Why do you need this product? A lot of products sit on your hair. Your hair is amazing while the products are in it but once those products evaporate or are washed out, your hair doesn't feel the same. They aren't "healing" or transforming your hair but masking them. This product penetrates the strands which over time will probably help with length retention, moisture/protein balance, increased elasticity, and shedding. I don't see it as an unnecessary or extra step, but a pivotal step. My hair feels healthier after using this even when it's not in my hair.

I have new microlocs and this was recommended by my stylist. Purchased after two weeks from my install and upon first use my hair and scalp was so hydrated! Very soothing with a pleasant smell!

Bottom line: I recommend this spray for anyone who has dry hair or with sensitive skin.- Pros: Quality ingredients, lightweight and effective without buildup or oiliness, easy to spray directly on hair or onto palms, mixes easily with other water-based spray leave-ins and layers with most stylers, pleasant lightly sweet berry scent plays well with other fragrances, moisturizing, no irritation or breakouts around the hairline , good spray nozzle creates a fine spray, eases detangling, no skin sensitization. works as leave-in and refresher, cruelty-free, Black owned business-Cons: none- Tips shake well before use, use less than you think you need, for faster application, add to a Flairisol style spray bottle. .

This is a really good product. The berry ingredients smell so fresh and natural; you might want to drink it! Love the fragrance in my hair and how it instantly hydrates and softens. As for it moisturizing, I think it hydrates the hair, but in order to keep the hair moist, a sealant like butter or oil needs to be used. For my hair, this product provides amazing hydration and shine; but unfortunately, 8 ounces doesn't last long, especially on thick, curly or coily hair. I would consider buying this product again if it came in a much bigger size; but for now, I feel that I can get more of my moneys worth by using aloe vera juice or water and adding essential oils and natural leaves and fragrance. Furthermore, this product does not contain oils, which could be the reason it evaporates rather quickly. On the other hand, it gently refreshes the hair and is perfect for the summer and surprisingly , for winter, too! It provides lasting hydration, but only if you continue to refresh the hair every now and again throughout the day. The formula seems gentle enough for children. In fact, when using this, I imagined just how great this product would be if used on a child. How easy it would soften, hydrate, and de-tangle a child's mane. As hydrating as this product is, I did notice that spraying my hair too often , created a sticky feel to my hair and to the nape of my neck ( I always manage to spray my neck when spraying the back of my hair) ; but the stickiness went away when i applied water to my hair. I found that applying water rejuvenates and leaves the stickiness behind, revealing beautifully hydrated, soft and shiny hair. Overall, this is a great non oil leave in spray; but, I don't see myself buying this again anytime soon. If it came in a much larger size, I might consider buying it again. I just find that I have to spray my hair too often with this product in order to keep my hair consistently hydrated though-out the day. If I have to do that, I might as well use a water-based leave in conditioner or use water or aloe vera juice, which is much less expensive and may provide longer lasting hydration without the need of re-spraying through-out the day. I really don't mind the re-spraying all that much, especially in the summer. I just don't like that this spray only comes in 4, 8 and 10 ounces and I don't like that it leaves a bit of a sticky residue if used too often through out the day. Overall, this is a really good product and for some people it might even be great. Maybe sometime in the future, i will try it again and for a longer time. Perhaps I will have a different experience. For now, I think it's a really good product!!
