Strong and sturdy
We bought this harness to keep our Labrador pup safe and secure in the back of our Freelander 2, because she’s is just a pup and still growing I bought one slightly to big, so she could grow in to it, it’s easy to adjust, it’s well made, strong and sturdy, easy to put on and take off because of the buckle design. It’s safety rated for crash testing, all in all a great harness, quick delivery and simple instructions to follow. I would recommend this harness 👍🏻

Strong, well-made harness, excellent value for money.
This harness was bought for our retriever as a car harness so that she can travel safely in the car. The most important consideration was safety and I am very re-assured by the quality and build of the harness. It is quite a heavy harness and while there may be lighter alternatives that use plastic fittings instead of metal I wanted to make sure that the harness was robust enough to protect our dog in case of an accident. The build quality looks excellent, thick nylon strapping and heavy duty metal fittings that look designed to last and withstand a lot of force. The design is quite simple and it was easy to adjust to the size of our dog. The harness will adjust to accommodate different sized necks and torsos via four sliding buckles; once adjusted it was simply a matter of unclipping each time we put it on or off. I found the clasps a bit fiddly at first but they feel rock solid when fastened. The harness has attachments for a lead both at the front of the breast pad and on the top of harness so could be effectively used as a training/walking harness though this wasn't our primary intention. The harness comes with an equally sturdy-looking seat belt tether and is very good value for money. I feel reassured buying a brand that I recognise; the harness was apparently crash-tested and comes with a 'lifetime warranty' though I don't know what the customer service is like for this product as I have never needed to use it.The harness seems well-padded. I have seen other harnesses where there is more/thicker padding and where the straps/webbing is a bit wider, these may be more comfortable for prolonged wearing but in all honesty our dog seemed very comfortable wearing this one.Overall I am very pleased with the harness. I did quite a lot of research before buying and if you are looking for a car (or multi-use) dog harness then I don't think that you could do much better.

Good overall
It’s a good harness and gives me more confidence that my dog is secure in the car. It is quite heavy so wouldn’t recommend for gear shy dogs. I’ve also found that, like many harnesses, the girth strap is quite close to the armpits, meaning that it doesn’t allow for much elbow clearance. Ideally a girth strap should sit around 2” behind the front leg however this doesn’t at all.I tend to change my dog into s different harness if we’ll be going for a walk, but it is useful for the actual transportation side of things.

Crash tested
My first preference for having the dog travel in the car with us was to have her in a crate in the boot. However, she absolutely hates it and is always travel sick which makes going anywhere with her a nightmare, but she will happily sit on the back seat. So I started looking at car harnesses and quickly found out that most of them are cheap and cheerful and basically just a nod to the law, but actually do nothing to restrain your dog in the event of an accident. Seeing as I usually have at least one of my children in the car with me, I need them to be safe from a flying dog, and I’d really rather the dog was unharmed too. After a lot of reading online I decided on the Kurgo as it’s one of the few crash tested dog harnesses available in the uk, and it doesn’t cost a fortune. It’s easy to fit, seems very well made and my dog is very happy wearing it. It is quite heavy thanks to the metal hardware which may be an issue with very small dogs, but my labrador puppy doesn’t seem to mind, even when we used it as a walking harness, and of course it’s the metal clips which give the harness it’s strength. A word of warning though - if it’s even slightly loose fitting, the dog can escape it so make sure it’s tight enough! She seems to have plenty of space to settle on the back seat when restrained, but not enough that she can try to jump in my toddler’s lap or try to get in the front of the car. Thankfully I’ve not needed to test the crash test claims but so far I’m happy.I bought the medium which fits my 13kg dog very well. I did have an issue with the seller sending the wrong size and the ensuing marketplace returns palaver... I hadn’t realised that the medium was not sent by Amazon unlike the other sizes. However, we have the correct size now so it’s all good. If it wasn’t for the fact that the metal on the harness will rust if wet, I would probably ditch our regular waking harness and use this full time, I like it that much!Edit October 2020.I’ve recently had to buy another Kurgo harness in large now my dog is 24kg. I had no hesitation in buying it again, and it has now completely replaced the regular walking harness. The metal clips didn’t rust although I expected them to, and the front lead attachment ring has helped a lot with the dog pulling. I now recommend this harness to everyone I know!

Keeping my BFF safe!
There was an accident not far from me where the poor pup was thrown from the vehicle and killed, which led me on a search to find a safe way to travel with my bestie. I love taking her everywhere with me, and I did have a strap to connect her to the safety belt, but I just did not feel like her harness or safety restraint were substantial enough. After a great deal of research I settled on the Kurgo Tru-Fit Enhanced Strength Dog Harness. My first impressions when it was delivered was that it is a very substantial harness. All buckles and fittings are steal, and the chest plate on the front is shaped in a way that actually covers her without cutting in to her. I should mention that my pup is a 70lb standard poodle, so finding something that fits her can be challenging. Not a problem with the Kurgo as there are 5 different areas that can be adjusted so it allows for a custom fit. The steel latches are extremely easy to work with, and once set, will hold the sizing until you decide to change them. After fitting her I put her in the back seat and we were off. In its most restrictive setting, I found that this combination holds her securely and allows her to sit and lay down without giving her extra room to move around. That is exactly what I wanted so we went out for a drive, got some ice cream, and then stopped and I attached her leash to the new harness and we went for a walk. I like that this harness does not restrict or cut in to her leg movements as so often happens with this breed because of the deep chest. We are very happy with this product and highly recommend it. This pup is a part of our family and we want to make sure she is kept safe and secure, and this does the job! To whoever designed this, thank you!

Great for securing my dog when in the car.
I only use this harness when my dog is in the car. Keeps him attached to the seat belt with the seat belt extension.
