We overland and off-road. If we're off-roading we "base camp" in one place for two or three days driving trails near our camp with an empty rig. For that, this is perfect. The self contained nature of it is particularly nice (ie you can store extra bags, wipes and some black water chem treatment right in the bottom even when using it). It probably would be the same perfection for state park or the commercial family campground use or probably even just tailgating or beach trips (paired with a privacy tent of course!).Overlanding is a different matter. Real overlanding is where you're far from the nearest trash barrel and rarely in the same spot more than one night. For that its terrible. It takes up a LOT of precious space in the rig and hauling around up to 5 days of sloshing waste on rough trails is not fun. We ended up with some odor in our vehicle by the last day.We gave it five stars based on that first "base camp/family camp" type application. YMMV.

It did not come with the toilet paper holder for storage when not using 😢

Beware of Sportco (seller). Read fine print. They charged me 44.92$ for this and I returned it as non functioning and they refunded me 2.65$. They disagreed that it was malfunctioning. The toilet seat doesn't fit on the base very well so when you sit on it the seat flexes and falls to one side with a pop. My weight is 155 lbs. Sportco insists this is normal so they won't refund me the balance for the return. Sportco customer service is about the "policy" and the money, not customer service. Be careful when you purchase that you don't accidentally purchase from Sportco like me. Purchase from Amazon directly to try it out, their return policy is free returns.

Saw this on YouTube, ordered and l9ve it! Small and lightweight. Making a cover to double as a small atool!

You need a place to store the toilet paper other wise it is perfect :)

Camp toilet arrived today with no seat, lid or toilet paper holder.

Hole in the bottom of the outer bucket. Lid is not sealed in any way. Seat fits loosely. Simple 5 gal bucket with a lid and pool noodle will work much better either in terms of containing all the waste airtight or in terms of comfort of sitting. Way too expensive for a plastic bucket.
