Straightforward and easy to fit
This arrived promptly and the website has very clear instructions for fitting. The only odd thing is that you have to buy two. Perhaps I should feel flattered that they think I'm posh enough to have a house with two doors and two letterboxes?

Does the job & easy to install .Reason for 4 stars and not 5 is some times after delivery of mail the letter box remains stuck open . When touched itslams shut . It never done this before .

Letterbox Plate Springs for Traditional Letterboxes
Remember fitting new letterbox plate 29 years ago. June 2014 spring broke. Visited all DIY stores and all ironmongers in town butunable to get either a new spring or a new plate that would fit existing fitting holes and aperture in door. Searched internet for newplate then spotted these springs in an adjacent box. Couldn't believe my luck. Ordered them and they were here the followingmorning by 1st class post. Found the spring easy to fit once we had been able to get the existing bar out. Perfect fit but not asstrong as the existing spring had been. Letterbox plate is a 12" cast iron fleur-de-lis and it probably could do with a strongerspring. However, spring is doing its job and am delighted that this item was available.

Suitable for vintage letterbox
Good strong spring, holds letterbox flap shut. Very useful fitting directions on the Amazon site. Needed to read these as not an intuitive fit . Once read them, I fitted it easily 😀
