Used 4mm dowels. No problem.
Bought these to repair G-plane chairs that had loose legs. G-plane pin the legs in to body with very fine pins. Knocked the legs off, cleaned up the joints, re-glued with PVA and dowel the legs with these dowels no problem, easy to trim dowels to size with Stanley knife.

Disapointed with the quality
Really disappointed with the quality of some of the dowel. As you can see some of the dowels were damaged, there were others also damaged but these were the worst. I really needed them for a project (and didn't need the full amount) otherwise I would have returned.
