Hmm good question. I just take the extra strength and am satisfied with it.

Q: Prevagen does it work?

Be very careful with testimonial answers like "we took it for months / years and it works". Those folks may have perceived some positive change, but they, and you, have no idea if Prevagen was the reason. Just because "A" followed "B" does NOT mean "A" caused "B" or more specifically correlation does NOT prove causation. What other changes did they make to their lifestyle, diet, etc. at the same time they started taking Prevagen? Did these changes help as well? In an uncontrolled testimonial, you have no idea what actually produced the perceived change. Further in medicine and pharmacy there is a long known phenomenon called the "placebo effect" - meaning that is you believe taking this will make you feel better, you probably will feel better even if it actually does nothing. This has been demonstrated many times with "sugar pills" decreasing perceived pain. Further, the company states that a controlled double blind study showed short term memory improvement. That's probably true. However, the pills also contain Vit D. It could easily be that Vit D caused the memory improvement and buying Vit D is a whole lot cheaper than Prevagen. I am not saying this does not work, but I am saying, there is little hard evidence that it does.

I did not find this product to be useful at all, nor did my husband.
