GREAT UKULELE for under $50.00
This is a great $50.00 Ukulele, and a great first Ukulele to own. For me this was my third Ukulele and my first Kohala Ukulele. I am very impressed with this Uke. It has good sound and good tuners. I did go the manufactures web site and found out it comes with GHS ukulele strings that sound nice. Like all new Uke strings, they will stretch and go out of tune a lot at first, but be patient, they will stretch and hold their tune. If you do not own a Tuner, I would get one. I have a SNARK UKULELE tuner and it clips on the end of my ukulele. The Kohala Uke did come with a few marks in the wood and there was one spot on the back of the neck that could have been sanded better. I just have to remind myself it is a $50.00 Ukulele. I am very happy with this Ukulele and I play mine all the time...You will have a lot of fun with this Ukulele..

Way better than I thought
I got two of these to give as Christmas presents, so I wasn't really looking for a high quality one like I would be if I was buying for myself. I am an avid ukuleleist and have been playing for 2 years. I know a good instrument when I see one too (as I play 10 of them). This one looks really pretty. It's a darker wood than in the picture. It sounds really great too.My first ukulele was a cheap 50$ one which actually sounded, and was built really well. This one is better than that one in a lot of aspects. I wish this one had been my first instead. If you are looking to get into this instrument, this is a great first uke. It's a great intermediate one too.

Great sound Great price
Overally a pretty sturdy uke for a great price. I'd have to admit the strings are borderline aweful so i would recommend investing in purchasing a pack of standard nylon strings along with your order. Once restrung you get a real crisp soulful sound. Great for beginners or someone just looking to add to the collection. I dont regret my buy!

i loooooveee my new ukulele! When i bought this instrument, i had never played a ukulele in my life. I read articles online and decided a concert was the size for me. I admit i do play the violin however, and needed a new instrument to play around on. The color is beautiful, just like the picture. This buy was a great deal, it does not look cheap at all and hasnt slipped out of tune for me. Playing this instrument is fun and easy to pick up! it even comes with a cute instructional booklet that a kindergartener could understand, which shows you where to place your fingers for chords and how to hold it and how to strum and all you need to know as a beginner. I am very happy with my buy, and at such a great price!

Good uke for beginners. Some flaws.
This uke is pretty good for its money. Built pretty well but with some flaws. The strings are extremely thin and go out of tune very often. Even after using it for a couple months. And one of the tuning pegs started to become loose but it still sounds great! Not a uke for a pro or intermediate status but definitely a great one for beginners!!

For the price, this is definitely a great ukulele. I've seen complaints about constantly having to tune the strings, however I have not had this issue. For the first week or so, it did come out of tune frequently, but as the strings have stretched out, it's become less of a problem. Even so, I don't know what else one would expect when playing a musical instrument... it should be tuned every time. It sounds like a ukulele, it plays like a ukulele... if you want to just learn how to play and brighten your mood with the fun sound, this will do the job.

Not worth it
I should have heeded the bad reviews. For the price, I could get a better qualty ukulele from a toy store. The box that item was shipped in was in ok condition but too small. The interior/actual box for the ukulele was crushed. Foam wrapping around the ukulele was torn and did not adequately protect the instrument. Ukulele appeared to have been opened/used and there were dings/imperfections everywhere. Con: Seller required restocking fee. Pro: Rec'd my refund (minus restocking fee) promptly.

you get what you pay for
The price is appealing and the quality is low too. The sound is pretty cheap and it's a smaller size but I guess it's a good gift for a small child. One of the frets thing was too deep in the wood so it couldn't play those notes. I returned it and decided to buy a more expensive but prettier and much better sounding ukulele in person from a store instead!
