Visually stunning
The visuals im this Steampunk adventure are stunning but the control system could do with a revamp/workover. Sony are you listening? Remaster or sequel please.

Video bits too long and can't skip
It's an ok game just a shame you can't skip the long boring crappie video bits. It's not a very long game before you know it it's ended. Worth 3 stars for the graphics.

My least favourite game in the PS4 era
My least favourite game in the PS4 era.The game is 75% trigger responses (press X to dodge / counter) & cutscenes and the control system outside of this is clunky and annoying.I slogged for a few hours before I gave up, and from Youtube videos I can tell I am not the only one who feels this way.

Much better than I'd been led to believe
It's true to say that The Order 1886 didn't live up to a lot of people's expectations, but having got to it long after the hype and the middling reviews had been forgotten, I found it to be a really entertaining game. Yes, there are loads of cutscenes and the whole thing's very linear, but the story is gripping, the setting and atmosphere are unique and the acting is great across the board.Playing as Sir Galahad, one of an ancient order of knights, in an eerie alternate Victorian London, you and your fellow knights must solve a chilling mystery that threatens to tear the Order and the city apart, as well as testing the friendships of you and your comrades along the way. Much was made of the graphics when the game was first unveiled and they don't disappoint. This is one of the finest looking console games ever made. The on-rails nature of the game means there are some moments where you're forced to walk slowly through conspicuously non-interactive backdrops, however, possibly so developer Ready At Dawn could show off how lovely everything looks. Similarly, there are items to pick up and examine during your adventure that serve no purpose at all, other than to make you coo at how incredibly lifelike they appear. Gameplay is a mix of Gears of War-style cover-based combat using an arsenal of outrageously powerful weaponry, Uncharted-style climbing/exploration, and quick time events, the latter being the weakest aspect of the game, but still perfectly serviceable. So, forget what you've been led to believe about The Order 1886 and immerse yourself in a beautifully-realised gothic horror story. You might be as surprised as I was.
