Better than pills
Magnesium supplementation was recommended to me by Lamberts technical helpline after a longstanding (over 3 years) lower back issue was failing to respond to a huge variety of interventions. A complete physical change within the 2 hours the tablet took to dissolve and enter my system. An absolute life saver as I was at a point of desparation. Painfree is a JOY! If you are in a similar situation then the amount of Mg to take is about 400 - 450mg daily. Any more than this and you need to check your calcium intake too.I'm a blood type B so I process calcium really efficiently. For me taking Mg and Ca in 'recommended' amounts doesn't have the same effect. You can also test the response by missing your dose for 24 hours and revert to your previous pained state! This pain 'half-life' does improve as the levels of Mg in your body start to build up from the depleted state. As muscles relax the body is able to move properly for the first time in ages and so energy and vitality do return, mood lifts as well when pain has gone.Having finished a 90 day course of Mg tablets I decided to find a form of Magnesium that didn't involve taking pills with all sorts of unnecesary additives that help the manufacturer not the end user! Floradix has a fantastic reputation and discovering they produce this Mg suplement was brilliant. Nice taste and I buy via the subscribe and save so get a reliable monthly delivery of my 2 bottles.Cost? Well yes compared to some I guess it is a bit more pricey, but you really are getting a quality product.I'd also suggest taking Vit D, 10,000 iu daily is a good amount in the UK, particulalry after our last summer of rain not shine. Vit D is critical in many self-healing pathways - do some internet research and you will be astounded! I suspect most people are depleted in Vit D, unless you spend lots of time in a sunny country. I call it the happiness vitamin! Smiles all round.....Good health!

Pleasant taste
Bought this for my husband as he is a little deficient in some minerals. Had tried other magnesium supplements which upset his stomach and were not very pleasant to taste. This has an ok taste and has not upset his stomach at all. For him it is the ideal supplement.

Seems to be helping with my son's tics and sleep!
My little boy has a chronic tic syndrome and recently he's been constantly plagued by tics, little hums and sighs. I knew that many people with Tourettes recommend supplementary magnesium, and I also knew that my son refuses to eat enough magnesium rich foods (nuts, seeds, beans and green leafy vegetables) for optimal magnesium intake, but was wary about giving him a supplement. After many months of transdermal magnesium spray with questionable benefit I bit the bullet and ordered this - and I'm very glad I did!Firstly I should say that I looked up the National Institute of Health guidance on maximum daily oral supplementary magnesium for children (over and above diet). 1-3years : 80mg, 4-8 years : 130mg, 9-13years 240mg. I gave him the appropriate amount which was easy to do from this preparation since each 5ml spoonful is approx 60mg.I chose this one because it has no artificial colours or flavours (which worsen my son's tics), and I trust the brand.I'm not going to lie, the taste is very strong. Like sour mango. My 8 year old son hated the taste at first but accepts that it is helping him and has got used to the taste. He drinks water immediately afterwards and follows with a square of chocolate (blatant bribery) and that's how we got round that. My husband LOVES the taste. I find it strong but can put up with it. That explains the differing Amazon reviews on taste! The other thing you should know is that 250mg is a big bottle if you're using it only for a very young child -and you must keep it in the fridge after opening and use within 4 weeks, as it has no preservatives in it. Some folk might think that is expensive so you should be told that. It's worth it for us.Did it work? Well we think there's been a huge difference in our son's tics. I hesitate because the nature of his condition means it waxes and wanes and perhaps it's all coincidence. He's been on it 3 weeks, and whilst at first I didn't see any difference, after 2 weeks I thought he seemed less ticcy, and this last week he has been so much better, suddenly much better than he has been for 6 months. Even I have hardly noticed the tics this weekend, when just before he started the magnesium he was like a little constantly chirupping bird. As I say, it could be coincidence but I'm hoping we've found something that's helping him.But one thing I'm absolutely sure that it's helped with is his sleep. Children with tic disorders often struggle to sleep especially when their tics are bad, they feel restless and ticcy, struggle to relax their bodies, even more so when tired. At least that's the case with our son. But from the first day we gave him the Floradix magnesium he was calm and relaxed that night, fell asleep easily which has continued to be the case. We started him on a half dose for the first 10 days, and on increasing to full dose, again saw a significant improvement in his ability to relax to sleep. He now puts his book down and lies down to go to sleep, asleep in minutes; this is a huge difference for him who has struggled at night for many years. If all the magnesium did was improve going to sleep and relaxation it is still more than worth it for us, especially as tics are worse in tired children. But actually in the last few days his tics are very noticeably much better than a couple of weeks ago - or even than in the last few months. I think it's the magnesium, so I'm back to order more.If I change my mind about if this magnesium is helping the tics over the next few months, I will edit this review for all the other worried parents of chronically ticcing children. I know this is a long review, but I also know how hard it is to be looking for something to help your child when the NHS sadly has very little to help this condition, and how much I personally appreciate it when parents give me all the details if they think something is helping! Hang on in there fellow parents of ticcy children, I know it's hard. I hope we all find solutions.

Interesting taste!
I use magnesium creams to help restless legs at night, and they help, so I tried to increase my daily magnesium intake too. This was recommended to me, and doesn't react with any of my daily meds.I've been taking it for a while now and this is my third bottle.I can't promise that it will work miracles, but I can certainly tell when I've forgotten to take it for a day or two. I think it helps a bit with general tiredness (I have several chronic conditions) .Taste wise, I like it. It's a bit unusual! The main tastes (for me) are a peachy one and aniseed. It's also really easy to take, no faffing, and the enclosed measuring cup is ideal.Definitely worth trying. Thanks for reading, I hope you find this review helpful.

Good product
My 6 yo daughter suddenly developed tics during first phase of lockdown. She had no history of it or any other chronic illnesses in the past. I read somewhere that magnesium might help so I purchased this product and gave it to her (not regularly). It took sometime and we did see a noticeable difference in her tics before they completely disappeared. Now I do not know if it was because of the magnesium syrup or that lockdown eased and children returned to school. Now that she in school she has developed another type of tic (vocal) and I am purchasing another bottle of it to see if it helps this time around. Her paed doctor's have done extensive tests and nothing has shown. The syrup tastes ok. Very citrusy but that's okay and obvious considering all the fruit used to make it.
