Great when and while they work
Let me start by saying I am a long-time Bradley user. The system appealed to my lazy streak in being a set it and forget it smoker. I no longer HAD the urge to nurse a charcoal smoker through the time needed to do pork butts or beef brisket. Coupled with a PID controller such as the Auber, it was a precision machine. That was until something malfunctioned. I have two of these units. One in the USA and one in the UK. The USA unit is the older and the heating element finally died. It had always been dodgy, especially in cold weather. Despite multiple complaints about an under-powered element, Bradley has never seen fit to provide a better element. I was able to fix that with an after market option which has twice the power and heats quickly. The unit I have in the UK is newer by far. But I had only 4-5 cooks on it before the smoke generator died. No problem, I figured as there is a Bradley distributor in the UK. WRONG! Their idea of customer service is to provide you with a flow diagram on how to trouble shoot the smoke generator and fix it yourself. OR....they are happy to sell you a replacement. My UK unit has now been relegated to the position of cold smoker using wood pellets. The smoke generator remains KIA and I have a healthy supply of pucks which I guess I can burn manually in a charcoal smoker. After much reflection, I have gone back to "old school" smoking using a Weber "bullet" and have never been happier. With a little knowledge the Weber will burn as long as needed and at a controlled temperature. The Bradley remains an insulated box with racks for cold smoking. I would never buy another.

Spoil the ship for a halfpenny's worth of tar.
Brilliant piece of kit. I just don't understand why at least 2 or 3 bisquettes are not included with the smoker to get you started.Or, why is the need for bisquettes not pointed out clearly in the 'blurb'
