Works great!
We have Spectrum internet and a 2 story house. Our internet was very laggy and if multiple devices were running it would just buff or constantly disconnect. We ordered this and we can run multiple devices with no problems. Coverage is amazing from every area of our house. It was also very easy to setup. We are very happy with our purchase!

Fast and easy to program
I live in a townhome with three floors. I located one box on each floor and it is really good to have a wifi signal all around. without this mesh, the signal was able to reach the stairs to the third floor, weak and with intermittence. Now I can fully be in the third floor and it works perfectly well. Highly recommended. The setup was easy but I think it could be easier. I think there was too many steps but in the end I was able to program it without calling for technical help.

Great, if you dont use the internet!
Bought this crap in 2023 and I can't believe they're still selling them as new in 2025. Everything was pretty easy to install. App is easy to use.. My main problem is the INTERNET! These things are constantly dropping devices, losing connection, etc. Very frustrating. Will not buy Nighthawk again.

Just “OK”
Have been using this setup for about a week. It’s better than the mesh WiFi system that came with our Google Fiber internet, but still not worthy of a 5 star review. Seems to have trouble getting the signal vertical (ie: things on our second story right above one of the satellites on our first floor were not getting a good, if any, WiFi signal). Really had to play around with the location of the satellites to get full house coverage. Also, at least one of the satellites seems to drop the signal somewhat frequently (if only for a couple of seconds at a time). The price is very reasonable for this system but if I had to do it again I might opt for a really high end mesh set-up or potentially a really strong gaming router with maybe 1 extender elsewhere in the house.

Setup the Router First
Once I found out the Router needed to be setup/configured, it was easy to connect all Nighthawk devices to the internet and local WAN.

Easy to set up-but...
The Netgear phone app makes it easy to set up the Nighthawk system. BUT - the problem was that disconnecting the existing router from Spectrum was not enough. After a couple of hours getting nowhere it turned out I had to physically return the unit so they could take it off their system before I could install the Nighthawk router. Once that was accomplished, the setup was straightforward. If only I had known about the Spectrum situation, many hours of frustration could have been avoided. Warn new users trying to install the unit instead of their ISP's router that this may occur - and to check before setting out to install the Netgear unit. Saves a lot of time and grief. Once set up the units functioned as planned and I am getting wonderful download speeds throughout the entire house. Five stars!

Fast Connection
Pretty easy to set up. But, had less this a year and I think on the of the satellites is already bad. If I plug it in, a lot of my devices seem to get confused on what to connect to and then doesn't work. The app isn't very easy to deal with. It tries to upsell you other stuff.

Current firmware has a major bug - NO UPnP/DLNA services on network!
I am trying this in my home of about 3000 square feet with 3 levels. The setup of the router and satellite went very well. About 60 wired/wireless devices are attached. The signal is strong enough for my needs, no issues streaming from the media streamer on the top floor through a satellite. The good news: I can configure this via either its web interface via a PC browser, or an app. I prefer not to be forced to use an app, so a router that will allows me to choose definitely meets my needs. The bad news: upgrading the router and satellites to the latest firmware broke UPnP/DLNA access. Those services are not visible on the network and cannot be seen by any media streamer looking for them. This has been a bug in the latest 2 firmware releases and has not been fixed. This has been a problem for close to 18 months with no response from Netgear. If one is forced to run backlevel firmware to use these very ordinary and popular home network services, it does not give me a good feeling that Netgear will continue to support this model in the near future. I would not recommend purchasing it.
