Versatile, easy to use, robust design for daily use on the job
Picked this up this for a flooring project, and now it's my go to for everything. The grip is larger than I expected, but it really functions well. Having multiple positions for the blade has become my favorite part of this handy knife, not to mention the single button to replace the blade AND blade storage in the handle.

Solid feeling and compact
Very handy utility knife setup. Considering the scraper version for around the house

Good design ...But...
Blades start to loosen in the handle after a couple weeks or so of use. I love the design but I've already gone through two of them. Looking for a new manufacturer with a quality product

Be careful
The quality is good only issue I have is a decently bug one and that is when you are hitting backside of it and you don't have a tight grip or gloves one the razor blade side likes to slide out and if you aren't carful your fingers will pay the price

Flawed design, not durable
I got this knife a month ago. Seemed nice, a little heavy. I really liked it. It had a good feel. But on use the blade tends to work itself between the diecast holder and the riveted plate. This causes the blade to tilt and it will no longer retract. As the tilt worsens the blade will come loose and pull out as the blade lock is not robust. The blade once in the gap will start cutting the rivet. The flawed design of the blade holder makes this item not fit for purpose. And with use becomes dangerous.Carpet blades are designed with a rounded central hole that should be used to secure the blade in a holder. The cutting edges should not contact the holder, the blades are hard and sharp enough to cut non hardened metal.

Great for small detailing and clean up of drywall
Hi Carrie, this tool in my vest daily and it comes in handy more times than I can tell. It is great for cleaning up cut outs and making sure that face plates are installed flush to the wall.

The perfect choice
I am not a professional carpet installer, however I have 40+ years in workshops. I have been looking for a carpet knife for awhile. THIS is perfect, retractable, very multi position, nice comfortable handle, durable, holds extra blades.I returned the crain 217 because the blade is not retractable w/out taking apart the knife. (Ouch)

Blade slips out
I am a carpet installer. I like that this knife is retractable. It's a little hard to use and sometimes the blade will slip out of its guide. It gets stuck and you can't retract it, except by grabbing thr blade, from the flat top side, and wiggling it loose. Very dangerous!!!Do not recommend for cutting hard carpet backing.
