NINESTARS DZT-50-28 Automatic Touchless Motion Sensor Rectangular Trash Can, 13 Gal, Black Trim

I’m really happy with the NINESTARS DZT-50-28SL Original Touchless Automatic Motion Sensor Trash Can! It looks even better in person with its sleek silver design, and the touchless feature works smoothly. It’s the perfect size at 13 gallons, making it ideal for daily use. The only thing to note is that the 2 D batteries aren’t included, so I had to buy them separately, but it was totally worth it. The quality feels great so far, and it adds a modern touch to my space. I just got it, so I need to see how it’ll work with time, although I can highly recommend!

First I'm going to say I LOVE this trash bin!! It's the perfect shape, size, color combination with stainless and black. It functions perfectly as soon as your hand gets close to the pail. I shopped around for a long time before purchasing this brand. The price was also a determining factor. It was very reasonably priced and less expensive than many other brands and I think is just as good if not better. I highly recommend this product. It makes me happy to walk in my kitchen and see it. A big improvement from my step-on plastic pail. If you're looking for a kitchen trash pail, look no further. You'll love it!

I don't typically write reviews, much less for products I bought over a year ago, but I wanted to give a shoutout to Nine Stars for this one. We searched long and hard to find a nice-looking stainless steel trash can for our kitchen that actually fit in our space. The automatic lid was honestly just a bonus, but boy am I happy to have it.Our countertop extends out beyond the end of the cabinet, so other trashcans we tried would clang loudly against it when they opened. Or they couldn't be put flush against the cabinet because the opening mechanism protruded out from the back.This trashcan was exactly what we needed. Well-designed, sleek, compact, plenty of capacity, and easy enough to clean (and a lower price than most of the competition). I love that the lid opening mechanism is integrated within the lid and doesn't stick out the back, so it can be flush against a wall. The inside bag holder thing is clever too; no ugly bag overhanging the outside of the can, and it never falls in by accident. Shockingly, I'm pretty sure we're on the same batteries as when we bought it last year!Only thing that could maybe be improved: The sensor seemed a little too sensitive at first, so the lid would open when we walk by. Maybe the sensor angle or sensitivity could be adjusted so it only opens when you want it to...but hardly a deal-breaker for us. I'd give it 9 stars if I could.

I really like that this is motion sensored. I chose this size because it fits the 13 gallon trash bags - anything larger and bags are hard to find in my area, and it was at a decent price compared to the other models. I was happy to use the 2 sample trash bags they sent along. They seemed quite strong and wouldn't tear easily. I don't know what I had put in my trash can for that first use, but something became liquid or had liquid in it that I didn't realize. So when I took the EKO trash bag out, there was a ton of liquid in the bottom of the can. So their trash bags will leak just like any other bag will. I put that bag into the 2nd bag they sent and disposed of it. However, when I went to clean the trash can out, I realized something I hadn't thought of and really don't like. First, there is not a removable plastic bin inside the can that you can take out and go wash out. I read it didn't have one, but I didn't think much about it at the time when I ordered it. So that's a bummer when you have liquid spills in the can. Also, when I go to empty the strainer from the sink, I bang it against the inside of the trash can. Obviously, with no plastic liner inside it is a lot louder when you do that. Secondly, there are 'air vent' holes in the bottom side of the trash can. If you wind up with liquid in the bottom as I did, be prepared. Either soak it all up with a towel or paper towels before washing, or lift straight up to empty into your sink or outside. I failed at that not having realized the holes were there, and wound up with a mess on my floor. To compensate for this, I now put 2 trash bags in the trash can to hopefully prevent or limit any future spills. To-date (approximately one month as of this writing), the motion sensor has worked fine. I like that you can press the open button a few seconds to keep it open for a while (it will eventually close). I actually almost wish it was a little more sensitive for the motion as you approach it though that may not be so good with little ones running around. :) All in all we do like it, but just wish it had the plastic bin inside like the other models do.

So far, so good. It IS a tad more sensitive than I'd like - it tends to open a lot whenever someone walks bt roo close but other than that, no issues.
