I just picked this up at a physical store and came on here looking for instructions...but yeah I had a similar problem, too. I did find if I played with a corner long enough I could get the plastic backing to separate from the adhesive layer, but I’m still not sure if that’s right since then it’s just mesh-looking tape, no air flow through it and I’m going to assume dirt will stick the adhesive?

Q: After my initial patch, I cut another section but now cannot separate the back to expose the sticky part. How do I separate the mesh from the tape?

Sorry we haven't experienced that problem. Your tape may have gotten hot and caused the adhesive to mesh together. For small tears you can try clear finger nail polish. As for the tape I'd try to let it sit somewhere cool then try again. We kept it inside house so it won't be exposed to the high summer heat.
