This is a necessity for any first aid kit, either at home, camping or anywhere else.
WoundSeal Powder is an advanced blood clotting and scab forming agent. It is hypoallergenic and does not cauterize a wound, nor is it painful to use. I've used WoundSeal on several occasions and it has never failed to do the job.Pros:Does not cauterize skin or cause any damage.Does not cause a burning feeling when applied like alcohol does on a cut.It is hypoallergenic. The directions for use are simple and accurate. If stitches are required to close a cut, the "seal" can be removed by soaking it saline or a mild salt solution. It comes with 4 small packets, (in a plastic resealable case) for use on smaller cuts, larger packets can be purchased through the seller for larger cuts and wounds. (I recommend getting at some of the larger packets as well.)Con's: It is hard to find any cons about this product, except for the price. It is one of those things, that you get what you pay for. I wish the price were a little lower, or that there were 6 packets in each box instead of 4.

An excellent item for any bleeding emergency
I have used Wound Seal since the year it was released for sale to the public. In fact, the production originated less than 10 miles from my home! I really like the tube better than the small evelopes, as they are much easier to save for more than one use. No more folding to ensure no loss of product. I've only had one occasion to use an entire envelope on an injury. However, the ones which come in the flat box fit nicely in my handbag & first aid kit, so there are benefits for both styles!

Great Product!
This work just like advertised! A friend recommended this to my spouse as he is on blood thinners and is always bumping into something and bleeding. It stops it immediately and saves the day!

effective but difficult to apply
The way this is packaged makes it difficult to apply a precise amount in a particular location. You have to shake the dispensing tube and this doesn't allow an even and accurate distribution. But the product itself does a good job of clotting blood.

It works.
Cut myself bad processing a rooster yesterday. My right hand slipped and cut the vein just below my second knuckle on my left thumb. Put pressure on it til hubs could find the Woundseal stuff. I had bought this stuff right after my last knife wound (yeah, I'm dangerous in the kitchen with sharp pointy things), when I had to get 3 stitches in my finger. I live in a remote area, nearest clinic is over an hour away. Hubs poured a container on the cut, and I put pressure back on it. I hadn't known til today that this stuff is like chemical cauterization. Stings. A lot. But better than bleeding out on my kitchen floor. Put gauze on the cut after, and a very snug bunch of surgical tape to hold the gauze in place, and put pressure on the cut. Made the mistake of removing the dressing like an hour later (the curiosity was killing me), and it started bleeding again, but not as badly. Wash, rinse, repeat. But today, it's not seeping, not infected (it was a very yucky knife covered in chicken ick). I'll take the dressing off in a day or two, so I can clean it and let it air dry out, and stick some Steri-Strips on it. This Woundseal stuff should be in everybody's emergency medical stash. Amazing stuff, really. The blood was flowing heavily, and it stopped it. It would have been fine if I hadn't removed the dressing.I have since ordered a pair of cut resistant gloves.

You won't really appreciate this stuff until the first time you use it!
This stuff is absolutely amazing when you need it! Originally ordered this to have on hand for my dad who is taking Coumadin, and bleeds easily; but, I totally peeled back the skin off an area about the size of quarter on the back of my knuckle, when a wrench slipped, while I was adjusting my bandsaw.- blood was flowing everywhere rather rapidly - so I went upstairs, to where my wife was, and she grabbed and opened one of the packets of WoundSeal Powder, and began sprinkling it over the wound. The stuff looks like sienna colored dirt (my wife says finely ground cinnamon bark, without the smell). It immediately stopped the flow of blood everywhere she sprinkled; we missed a spot on one edge - but, it quickly stopped when we pushed some excess powder into the very minute opening! But, the most amazing thing is the fact that the powder formed an instant "scab" on the wound - which was very stable - and it healed twice as fast as what I expected - and appears that I may not end up with a scar. I definitely recommend this stuff to anyone, as it is easy to carry with you, due to the small size of the packets - you can even carry one in your wallet - or you can simply place one of the small plastic boxes of 4 packets in your first aid kit. Told a friend, who is a truck driver, about it, and he immediately ordered some to carry in his truck!
