Dr. Northrup specifically wanted this level of B12 in her formulation because older adults often experience deficiency due to the fact that the body does not produce B12 on its own. Vitamin B12 in combination with B6 and folic acid has been shown to control high levels of homocysteine in the blood, which can often increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
