Husband Loved It
I knew he would like it, but I didn't realize he would love it. I read some other reviews and figured he would adore the map (like many others), and he did, but he loved reading through all the pages of the book even more. Will be purchasing other books like this.

Not good shape, but fine book. Worst thing is that map was missing
I was bought as gift to my friend. He is Pratchett's fan and I am really upset that map was missing.

This exceeded my expectations and made me laugh a lot. Recommended.
For some reason I have not been able to engage with fiction much during our current interesting times. However I have been resorting to comfort reading and gone back to Terry Pratchett for the umpteenth time. As I like to read him in character cycles rather than chronological order I have been re encountering Sam Vimes and the City Watch and thoroughly enjoying myself. But I became increasingly aware that I wanted a Mapp of Ankh-Morpork to follow their perigrinations. ( I know TP himself used one to navigate and work out timings.)Since I am already a self confessed Discworld fanatic I decided to invest in the City Guide rather than the older Mapp. This turned out to be a great decision. Not only is there a good Mapp that has a wonderful aerial view of the city on the reverse but the rest of the guide is marvellous and has had me giggling like a loon for hours. (It is worth remembering that anything written that has TPs name on the front was written by and overseen by him.) It was lovely to hear his voice again and I got the feeling he had thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to add to and embellish the characters and places in the city that could only be mentioned briefly in the books. It is lavishly illustrated with ads that contain some nice in-jokes and some lovely asides in the text. The only way that this could have been improved is the substitution of the character drawings - which are passable- with ones by the excellent Paul Kidby, but that is a minor quibble.I am sure that I will discover a lot that I have missed when I read it again, which always happens with Discworld. So I am now able to easily navigate the mean streets of Ankh-Morpork along with Sam Vimes and have thoroughly enjoyed visiting the city in the company of TP. This City Guide was far better than I expected it to be from the reviews. There is always a worry that posthumous publications are just cashing in on a legacy but both this and Paul Kidby's Imaginarium are excellent quality and true to TPs vision. If you or your loved ones are struggling to fill the lack of Pratchett in their lives this is a marvellous buy and I recommend it.
