A bit messy, but worth the effort for a some extra protection
I know most newer tents are much better at staying waterproof than older versions, but unless they have sealed seams, they're eventually going to leak. It's well worth the effort to seal the seams when you have the tent setup.I last sealed the seams several years ago, and they held up very well with using the tent a few times a year. Since I needed to set it up to air it out after a particularly rainy trip, I ordered more sealer and did them again. I saw no leaks or issues, but it was worth the cost for another few years of waterproofing.

Quick Fix for Bad Tent Seams
I recently used this sealant on a tent with some pretty bad seams, and it worked wonders. Applying it was a breeze. It went on smoothly and dried quickly, which was a relief since I was on a tight schedule. What impressed me the most was how well it sealed the seams. They feel sturdier now, and I’m confident this sealant will outlast the tent itself. However, there are a couple of things to note. While the application was straightforward, the 2 oz size might not be enough if you have a larger tent or multiple items to repair. I only had a few and I used quite a bit. I may have not required that much, but I wanted to be sure. Also, it’s important to apply it carefully to avoid any mess since it’s quite sticky.Lastly, I’m really pleased with how effectively and quickly this fixed the seams on my Montana tent. It’s a handy product to have for any camping enthusiast dealing with seam issues.

Leak CENTRAL…but not from the tent.
To start, this product definitely works and prevented any leaking during my camping trip…but I have never seen a more terrible product design in a while. To get the product out, you have to turn it upside down and squeeze it out, but then have to put it right side up to brush it on so it all just drips onto your hands and everywhere within a 5 mile radius. Once it dries, you then turn into a bearded dragon during its shed cycle and you have to peel off what looks like an outer layer of skin. While camping, we experienced a slight drizzle, with no leaking (I know it isn’t saying much, but still…no leaks!) overall I think this product definitely accomplishes its purpose, but make sure you have towels down if the tent is up, and make sure to have a paper plate to dab the excess off.

Easy to use. Works well.
Works well. I did not have issues with seams, but wanted to prevent that. Easy to apply when tent is upright. Very water resistant. Looks fine. I wash my tents in my washer and the seams have no problem. I aired out the tent after application.

Effective at waterproofing a seam, but difficult to apply
The product is very runny. At first I tried applying it with the tent set up and the fly inside out. It worked ok, but it was very messy as this comes out watery and will drip/run easily. The second time I tried applying it, I set the fly on a table so it would be more flat. It worked better, but I wish this product were easier to apply.

Hmmm.... Be careful with this stuff. Great Company Though!
I have an MSR Huba from the mid-2010's with the infamous waterproofing tape disintegration problem. (It's a great tent tough). After hours of work removing ALL of the crumbling waterproofing tape from my tent, as per MSR's instructions, I applied GearAid's "water-based" "fast cure" seam sealant. The product states "test dryness after 2-4 hours." After 16 hours in a temperature-controlled room with the tent flaps open for airflow, the sealant was dry to the touch and good to go... until I went. After a single night of backpacking ALL the GearAid Fast Cure sealant became white and tacky, it stuck together, pealed up, and ruined my entire project—I hope I can fix it!GearAid responded to my inquiry to their customer service department and offered an explanation of why this may have happened. They were very nice, offered advice for the removal and repair of the botched sealant, and even offered a replacement bottle of the same stuff or a more permanent type (the GearAid WP). Despite the 6 hours I spent making this repair worse, I respect and appreciate a company with that level of care for their products and customers. I will try AGAIN!

The lid kid!
Easy to use and while I have not had the tent out in the rain yet, think it should perform as advertised. My only complaint is that you have to use it all at once because once the liquid dries on the applicator the lid is clogged and the rest of the liquid will not flow. I ended up using a piece of paper towel to finish the job an hour or so later but it was very messy and I had the liquid all over.
