The media could not be loaded. Very cool little winch. Strong enough for lifting some big items on my treehouse project. I mounted mine to a hitch plate and am very happy with it. I haven't hooked it up for a permanent rig so I can't speak to that part of it but for an external set up, it does the job well enough. The remote control is very nice and helps a lot when working solo.

There are some things I can pick apart, like the wire being copper clad aluminum AWG#6, and the fairlead being a hollow back casting, but the base plate looks to be a good solid 1/4" thick steel, the wiring and terminals are all color coded, so any idiot can wire it up. It weighs very little for it's rated power & line capacity. And it came with a wireless remote. I was able to drag a 4,000 pound jeep across concrete, so it seems to have plenty of pulling power. The 4,500# line pull rating seems legitimate. The low weight was a prime consideration for me since I plan to use it on a receiver hitch mount. That means that I'll be moving it around by hand a lot. I have ordered a solid fair lead for it. I also bought some slightly longer mounting screws. Aside from that, I am using it as it came.

First let me state that the one star rating is for the product itself. Amazon’s customer service who I worked with deserves a 5 star rating, but I don’t want someone just glancing at reviews seen five stars thinking it’s quality product and purchasing it without reading the full review that I’ve written first.I purchase this product because of the price point. It was inexpensive and so while I had no immediate use for the product I figured it was worth the money to purchase and have immediately available to me in the event I did require it.The product arrived and it was brand new. I placed the I had a bunch of shelf in the garage and forgot about it. A little under three months later give me time I needed to use it.So I unpackaged it and while I’m quite familiar with the set up of these type of items, I quickly glanced through the user manual / instruction booklet anyways to see if anything stood out.What stood out was that while the name printed on the booklet and the sticker on my winch were the same the illustrations / instructions within the booklet had very little in common with the actual winch I was provided.Well the instruction booklet advocated for the proper set up of the winch to ensure maximum performance and adequate safety, to which I agree 100%, it’s difficult to do if you have no instructions that refer to or relate to the product you have.So this time being quite familiar with winches anyway and setting it up dozens of them I knew it need to be done and went and set the winch. Once it was set up it did not function.I got out of voltmeter check the voltage which was good and was entering into the solenoid but no power was coming out of the solenoid so I didn’t test the motor I assumed the motor on the winch with probably fine but the solenoid itself was faulty.I look to see if I can do a return which the window for returns are closed it was only good for 30 days as I mentioned previously this was just under 90 days that I actually set up and learned that the solenoid was malfunctioning.I want to communicate with manufacturer to let them know what I encountered and to see if they had a warranty on the item that perhaps they would replace it or send me a new solenoid or at least I could let them know that the instruction booklet needed to be revised and updated.I was told by the website in the chat to contact Amazon directly through phone call which I did.Customer service this is the first time I dealt with them and they were fantastic. Polite courteous helpful and friendly.First they went to get the manufacturers number and we’re gonna send to the manufacturer but they had no contact information from manufacturer so I was left in limbo with no way to communicate my frustrations or to ascertain if it was the same warranty in place it could help or manufacture we just send me the part needed even if I needed to purchase it.This is where i became truly impressed.I’m at this time assuming that it was Amazon’s policy on this product to accept returns until 90 days as the window had shown closed on the Amazon website for a return and I was expecting Amazon to take care of this but they did.The emailed me return prepaid shipping label and accepted my return with the promise of a full refund upon receipt.This is happened minutes ago sorry I have not mailed out the product yet to receive the refund and cannot state with 100% that the refund will be provided.But I have no reason to believe it won’t be and I felt compelled to review immediately because I am quite impressed with what just occurred and it exceeded my expectations.If in fact if it is the manufacturer that is providing the 90 day window for an exchange or refund I think that it is fantastic to do so.It is rare and it has not been my experience in the past for a refund to be issued so far out after the purchase date and for it to be as easy and hassle free as this one has been.I’m sorry I assumed it be Amazon, but considering that there is no contact information for you to be found in Amazon itself does not have contact information for you, I assume it is Amazon itself that is making this right with me. At leads until I hear differently or you respond to this review to set the record straight I will continue to believe this is Amazon’s doing and who is deserving of the praise and credit.Respectfully,Thomas Fidler

NO INSTRUCTIONS REGARDS WIRING. CONTROLLER DIDN'T APPEAR TO WORK, ALSO CHECKED WITH VOLT METER TO CONFIRM. MOTOR WORKED WHEN DIRECT CONNECTED TO BATTERY. ORDERED REPLACEMENT AND AGAIN NEW CONTROLLER AND WIRED REMOTE DIDN'T APPEAR TO WORK. RESORTED TO READING REVIEWS AND FOUND NECESSAY INFORMATION TO GET BOTH CONTROLLERS TO WORK. WITH BLUE AND YELLOW CONTROLLER WIRES CONNECTED TO MOTOR, RED WIRE IN BUNDLE NEEDS TO BE HOOKED TO B+ TERMINAL AND WIRED REMOTE AND MOTOR WILL THEN WORK. FOR THE WIRELESS REMOTE, BOTH IN/OUT BUTTONS NEED TO BE HELD FOR 5 SECONDS AND RED LIGHT APPEARS AT TOP CENTER TRIANGLE TO INDICATE REMOTE WORKING. IN/OUT REMOTE BUTTONS THEN WORK. RAISED LABELING ON BACK OF REMOTE PROVIDES THIS INFORMATION. HOWEVER, DID NOT READ, SINCE NO CALLOUT IN INSTRUCTIONS, STICKER ON REMOTE OR ANYWHERE ELSE OR OTHER USER INFORMATION CALLING ATTENTION TO EMBOSSED INSTRUCTIONS. ASSUMED MODEL,SER.
