Altra Olympus 4 Trail Running Shoes The Olympus 4 has been revamped for more support, stability and traction on any terrain. A breathable mesh upper is coupled with a flexible and responsive midsole whilst a Vibram Megagrip outsole ensure traction in varied conditions. Breathable Mesh Upper Engineered mesh uppers will encase each foot in breathable comfort. Lightweight and highly breathable for all-temperature comfort, the mesh acts as a lightweight second skin, providing a supportive and comfortable fit. Its perforated construction allows air to fully permeate the entire upper, letting your feet breathe when the temperature starts to rise or your training session heats up. The upper is also highly durable thanks to synthetic overlays which swathe the upper for increased support. The abrasion-resistant overlays provide enhanced durability to reduce the risks of chafing and irritation. The upper construction also features foot-shape technology which allows the toes to be relaxed within the shoe. It allows them to spread out naturally with the big toe remaining in a straight position for additional comfort, speed and stability. An Altra-exclusive GaiterTrap has been updated to a new 4-point system to keep an attached gaiter even more secure than before, thus preventing debris from entering the shoe. Completing the upper is a lacing system which locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides. EVA Midsole A full-length platform of EVA resides underfoot for lightweight, responsive cushioning. Generous, soft and durable, it spares your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the EVA ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable on long-distance days. EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot

Great shoe
Love these. I have a wide foot and these fit perfectly. I didn’t purchase for running, but for hiking and walking. The sole is awesome and grips like nothing else on rock, mud and grass. Time will tell on how they wear. Only gripe (and it might be because I dont wear my shoe laces tight) but I seem to pick up little stones and bits in the shoe whilst walking and I’m not sure why (maybe the gaiters are a good addition). That being said, I’ll happily deal with this because everything else is perfect for me. Happy feet = happy days on the trail

Great running shoe
Having owned both the lone peak and timp with no issues i thought i would give the olympus a try as they where on offer, no complaints, no stability issues, grippy & good toe room. A*****

Great for hiking in, bizarre pricing
Great for a long hike slightly to big but altra havea bizarre pricing half size down is £30 more

Proper size
Took the advice and got a size bigger! Mistake !! with the bigger toe box my normal size would have been a bitter fit , the insoles in the lone peek didn’t hold up so going to put better insoles in and that should solve some of the problems with these

Altra is my new favourite running shoes.
Absolutely love altra running shoes! This is now my third shoe made from altra and can't believe I went without it for so long. I have only walked around in the Altra olympus 4 but will go on a 30mile run very soon to test if there's any issues, however just walking around in them I can happily say I think this will be my new favourite.Also they got delivered 4 days earlier so thanks for that!

Love these as they are so comfortable and the zero drop and foot bed support really help me.

These are the best non-technical trial shoes around
These are amazing trail shoes. Light, responsive, yet sturdy. They are a bit like a Hoka One One Clifton 6 or 7 but with a more spring and obviously made for the trial. Can't fault them. Fit wise, I take a UK 11 in these whereas in Hoka I normally take a 10.5.

Not holding together
The Olympus has been my go to shoe for almost 10 years, ran in the v3.5 on the TP100 almost from the box. But the v4 build does not seem that great. The lacing system doesn't keep the shoe tight and needs re-adjusting requently and the material has started to deteriorate after less than a year.Not a great vintage, will not replace until v4.5 appears, hopefully to fix the errors.
