Great, expandable desktop bookshelf. But I had to ask someone to assemble it for me. Needs 4 hands.

I purchased two of these items to hold books on our kitchen window sill. I found them fairly straightforward to assemble. Other reviews have had problems. I found the following procedure works well:NOTE - Do not fully tighten the screws initially.1. Assemble boards D and A with all the three wooden strips on top. See first picture.2. Spin unit through 90 degrees and fit the fourth wooden strip. See second picture.3. Use a set square or book to ensure the corners are at 90 degrees then tighten screws. See third picture. I think a weakness of this unit it that there is no brace to stop the sides flexing, so it depends on the screws alone.4. Spin the unit back to its original position, and place board C between D and A, and B at the left end. See picture 4.5. Fit the two wooden strips, spin the unit through 90 degrees, then fit the final strip. See picture 5.6. Check the angles are 90 degrees, then tighten screws.Books do not rest on a solid ledge, but on spaced out wooden strips - 2 strips in one half of the unit, three strips in the other half. This means that smaller books are not properly supported. Picture 6 shows the book on trees not properly supported, and the Bible is not tall enough to be supported at the back. A solution I have used is to cut a piece of cardboard to size as a base across the slats. See picture 7.

I would suggest that anyone planning to assemble this book rack, should first identify the ABCD boards and then pencil the relevant characters onto the boards using masking tape, which does not mark the wood finish. This will certainly speed things up. As mentioned previously, do not fully tighten the screws until you are certain that everything is in place. Also, a tiny smear of Vaseline on the screws will make things easier.

Bookcase ideal size for what I wanted but it needs respect as a little flimsy. Also some splinters came off during construction. However it is doing the job I wanted it for.

I bought a couple from another supplier and find this very versatile.Not really suitable for small books like paperbacks as it goes back quite deep

Well worth the price as it blends very well with normal office or home furniture. It is also very easy to use, given that you can move the thing to fit in any space, and thereby books and items accordingly.Highly recommended

Unable to assemble because bits were bent and didn't fit. Also very flimsy. Returned
