Q: How sturdy is it when hot bacon grease has been poured into it? Just wondering how easy it is to accidentally spill liquid grease.

Yes, it is very sturdy (pretty thick walled and stable to set on counter) and I pour hot grease into mine all the time w/out it tipping or melting.

Q: What do you do when you want to get rid of the grease?

The grease I keep, I use to cook with. If I have extra or it is too dirty to reuse, I soak it up or wrap it in a paper towel or any other trash and dispose of it.

Q: How fine is the mesh strainer?

The strainer is not mesh, it is silicone and it is not terribly fine. It filters out the larger bits but some wee little bits still get through. I'm thinking I might use my fine mesh strainer in lieu of the one provided.

Q: Do they make liners for this?

Hello. We do not. The item is easy to clean and is dishwasher safe.
