Happy with my Choice
Working great. From all of my review reading, I think people are getting a bit picky with their need for toasting perfection. I enjoy the option for different types of bread. The Defrost function works really well. I appreciate the layout of the 2x2-style as oppposed to our old elongated-style Cuisinart.

Great toaster with the right options
I really like this toaster. For years, we’ve been using our Smart Oven (essentially a fancy toaster oven) as a toaster, but I finally gave in to convenience and got a toaster. I wanted something nicer than the bare-bones, super cheap model, but I didn’t need one of the expensive models that had 75 different options and toasting styles that’s I’d most likely never use. That’s unnecessary, complicated overkill. I did some research and I like that America’s Test Kitchen rated this model really high and said it toasted evenly. They were right! Whether I put in a bagel, simple sandwich bread, a banana, a pop-tart or more, everything comes out evenly toasted with no light spots or burnt edges. It has a nice group of choices for bread types or sweets (without going overboard) and I like the defrost button for frozen items. I haven’t found anything yet that toasted poorly with this toaster. I also like that I can do multiple toastings - one right after another - without it getting too hot or toasting unevenly. Since it’s only my husband and I in the household, I don’t need the large footprint of a 4 slice toaster, so it’s nice to know that when the grandkids come over, I can do multiple rounds of toasting without any issues. I love how fast the toaster works. I was used to the long waits of a toaster oven, but just about everything I’ve made gets done in 5 min or less. I also really like the fact that it was easy to figure out. I didn’t need any directions to start using it. Overall, it’s a great toaster at a reasonable price.

Expected More
Wanted to love this toaster, especially since it was rated highly by Consumer Reports, but it's just okay. Lots of settings for different items (white bread, grain, english muffin, etc.) that work by auto-setting the toasting time. You can also set the exact amount of time desired. Finding that even though you leave the settings the same, you don't always get the same results. Also, english muffins come out too light (almost no visible toasting) even after increasing the time to the max setting (almost 4 minutes). Nice controls and sturdy feeling. Likely keep it until it dies, but I was hoping for a better performing product.

What An Upgrade!!!
Upgraded to a different model of Cuisinart Toaster CPT 180P1, there was nothing wrong with it I had it for years, and it was just time for an upgrade. The things I like about the new style, are the toaster slots are bigger (my bagels are always stuck in old faithful), the leavers push up and down smoother, it has a digital display, I can change the style of bread, set toaster styles in the memory. The only downside so far... fingerprints, the stainless steel on this toaster shows fingerprints easier than the old one. If you have been on the fence post this one is worth the money.

Weak, Inconsistent Toaster
After seeing both positive and negative reviews for this toaster (like other products), I decided to take a chance and order it. However, my experience was a clone of poor, unfortunate souls (cue Ursula, the Sea Witch). My first try was an english muffin. I set the toaster for "english muffin" and, among 7 degrees of toasting, I started with 4. The muffin turned out warm but without any browning. I cranked the toaster up to 5 and immediately retried with the same muffin in the same slots. After another 2 minutes, it emerged as I desired. On my ancient, two-slice toaster, that thing would have been rightly crispy-crittered.My second attempt was a single slice of white bread. I set the toaster on "white bread" and the degree of toasting on 5. I inserted the bread into the far right slot (marked on the toaster for a single slice). It came up untoasted. I inserted a fresh slice into the same slot, upgraded the setting to 6 (one shy of the maximum). As you can see in the photo (slice on the right), it was barely browned on both sides. I inserted one more fresh slice on the far left slot and set the toaster to 6 (as on the right side). The slice came out properly and evenly toasted on both sides (left slice).Peering down the slots during each toasting attempt, I noticed that one side of each slot did not have all the heating elements glowing red. A few elements glowed only halfway across. Judging by reviews, getting a decent Cuisinart unit is a crapshoot. As I type this, I'm waiting for this appliance to cool off, so I can pack it up and return it .Yes, this thing is toast.

Toasts unevenly and getting worse (owned one year), single slice doesnt work
Initially I thought the toaster was reasonable. I would toast on level 3, and it worked well. We’ve been using it more frequently lately and the toasting has become uneven and less effective.I wouldn’t buy this toaster again.

Worth a bit more money than some.
Great toaster although it got lost in shipping and I had to order another. I like how much choice I have with controls.
