Works like a charm
Still expensive, but compared to Nikons insane price range for some hollow plastic adapter with lots of useless contacts, this is the better choice. In theory you only need + and - and your good with a 10 dollar power source, but they do this on purpose to get your money. Is bad enough that even with this cable installed the camera will not film longer than 30 min in the excuse of sensor overheat protection. Despite the sensor remains on and LV continues. Im filming for 5 hours without issue, just have to bother pressing that non remote controllable record button every 30 minutes.

You can power ~50 Nikon cameras with a single one of these!! :o 6 AMPS!
This thing is 6 AMPS!! Way over-powered for any Nikon camera that fits the EL-14/ EL-14a batteries but hey, guess it's not bad to have an excess of power here :)If you do photogrammetry like I do (with multiple cameras), you can actually power up to 50 Nikon cameras with a SINGLE one of these! Since most Nikon cameras that accept EL-14/ EL-14a batteries only use around 0.11 amps. I just buy a couple of these and then a bunch of EL-14/ EL-14a couplers and splice them all together. Seems to power all of my cameras just fine.At that point though (powering 50 cameras on a single power supply) the power supply does start to get warm so I put mine in a case with fans to cool them down (other part in the photo is an arduino unit for controlling the cameras). You can also add a 9v DC surge protector to the output (and before the 50-coupler splice) to add an extra safety precaution/extra protection. That way if the power supply fails catastrophically, it won't kill any of the attached cameras.Anyway, these haven't failed me yet so 5/5! I just think price could be reduced by lowering the amount of power this thing provides. Could use a much smaller power supply for powering a single camera.

Good buy
Have been using it for a month and havent had any issues. Run it atleast for an hour everyday and have used it at max of 3hrs in a single stretch. Seems to be working great.

Worked great except in very high temps
First, to address some other complaints, I had no issue with this affecting sound quality as others had.In most cases, this item has functioned perfectly. There was one event in a very hot room when the camera started to overheat after about 25 minutes and shut itself down. Not sure if that was an issue with the device or the camera, but worth reporting.

Works out of the box for Nikon D3300
My camera accepted it without issue and it works very well for long timelapses. The wire going into the fake battery seems a little flimsy but it works and I haven't had any issues with it so far. The camera's battery door doesn't close (as you'd expect) so it's best used with a tripod.

Value for Money and works correctly on Nikon D3300.
Purcahsed this so I can shoot weddings, funerals and do live stream with my Nikon D3300, and I'm not disappointed. It works well, keeps the power stable and doesn't heat up.Will update by 2021.

Works fine on a D3300
I use this to keep a remote D3300 that's shooting video powered up. The adapter fits fine, thought the actual power supply is hilariously overpowered for the application. Doesn't seem to negatively impact the camera though.

Does what it does
Nice product to have to link my camera directly to my computer. Would be great to have a software compatible but you have to browse which software works for you. All things considered it’s a great product.
