I bought this because I could not find just the swinging door pieces to replace the one that broke on this same door that I bought a couple of years ago.I have a 3 year old beagle and he likes to run. He keeps breaking the round plastic hinge pieces off the clear plastic door. I was able to put them back on using JB plastic epoxy and the weld is holding fine for now (actually may be holding better than the original because I added additional epoxy as reinforcement).When and if he breaks the door again, I will add reinforcement to the new door panel at the hinges before I install it.Otherwise I like the door very much and would buy it again. Just wish they would fix the weakness in those hinge pieces.

I purchased this cat door to replace the same make and model, which my little dog bites and chews at after she sees the cat disappear through the door. Our cat is 15, little dog is 12-this is our third door. Since Petsafe merged with Staywell, this style is now difficult to find. The problem with replacing it with a different model would require a different size hole in the door, as well as getting an old cat used to something different. I purchased 2, just in case. This is an excellent product, it is placed in the door to the basement, where the cat has her boxes, toys (not bothered by dogs), and an old couch that she can shred to her hearts content! She adapted to it easily years ago, designed to close in both directions with magnetic closures. Very happy with purchase.

Bought this type of catflap for installing in one of our sheds where we keep rabbits and guinea pigs. I have not bought this type of catflap before for use in the house for our cats as I don't particularly like the design. I got these because they were cheaper than others I looked at, and because they were only going in the shed. However, they work well in the shed. The rabbits have got used to using them so they can get in to and out of the shed from and to the outside runs - one on each side of the shed - I know, they are spoilt! Because the guinea pigs can't open them - they're not that strong - the catflaps are left propped open during the day so they can get in and out too. At night the catflaps are closed, still allowing the rabbits egress and access but not the piggies. They also stop rats / mice getting in. I also like the sliding partition for completely shutting off access and egress if necessary. Overall, the catflaps serve their purpose in the shed, and I can't find fault in them, which is why I'm giving 5 stars. As I've mentioned, though, I would not have bought these for use by our cats.

Purchased this to replace my other pet safe cat flap as the dog had outgrown the smaller chip reading cat flap. Wish I hadn’t bothered. We started with badly measured guides leaving only a couple millimetres for screwing bolts to frame. Thankfully with careful drilling we managed not to ruin the fitting. It’s so flimsy the wind caught the secondary dampener frame and it snapped clean off,Leaving the door flapping around And letting in rain in wet and windy conditions. Due to having a snapped off dampener frame my dog decided to eat what was left of it while we were shopping (any bits of plastic he thinks belong to him) so on day 4 of having a new dog flap. It’s unusable due to the location of the flap on the outside of the frame as it now gets jammed, letting the dogs out but not in. When it was functioning as it should, The security door is easily pushed through as very thin and no runners down the side. It’s being locked into place at the very top and a small cut out at the bottom. Having a spaniel his already worked out on day one if he runs through the flap (when it worked) he could push the flimsy bendy security panel through, sending it flying across the kitchen. So now I have a back door with a whole large enough for burglars and a wonky wonky dog flap that looks like it’s been put on by cowboys. I will need to order a brand new pvc panel to be able to fix a harder wearing one to it as I can’t go up a size as would be far too large. So now out of pocket one large dog flap and a pvc panel.One good point. The security panel is easy to slide in but don’t bother if you have even a slightly naughty pooch

This product is great for the money, the last one lasted 5 years I think and boy does it get used, in, out, in, out all day long! The only negative really is the installation of the 8 bolts. They are too long for most doors so you need to cut them prior to install and then getting the holes lined up is challenging but you must also be extremely careful when cutting the main hole for the door so the hole is not too big and you still have enough to drill the holes for the bolts. That being said once done with great accuracy the door is the best on the market. The lock feature works but it's not super easy to use every day so we don't, luckily we have a secondary inner door that locks instead

This is a good size, I've upgraded from the smaller door now I have a larger puppy. He flies through it without a problem but I can see the door flap not lasting too long. In hindsight I would have preferred the soft rubber type. It's a great size, not too difficult to fit and it is affordable. It does let a draft in even with draft excluder added and on a windy day, it won't stay shut. Ok in the summer but certainly very annoying in the colder months.

I HAVE 3 DOGS.(SMALL MED. LARGE.) THAT I GOT DOOR FOR .THE DOOR IS ALL PLASTIC WITH A THIN PLASTIC INSERT TO JOIN FRONT TO BACK.IT LASTED 10 MINS BEFORE BITS OF PLASTIC BROKE OF WITH THE DOGS GOING IN AND OUT IT .ONLY GOOD FOR VERY SMALL DOGS EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE LARGE SIZE I GOT AND THE LOCK PANEL IS A WASTE AS IT WAS PUSHED OUT WITH EASE.WOULD NOT RECOMEND
