Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Official Cookbook: Recipes from the Four Nations Hardcover – November 23, 2021

First of all, no matter what I say after this about the actual recipes, it’s important to know that this book is a must-have for any ATLA fan due to the novelty factor alone. It’s full of great photos and fun character illustrations, and the descriptions before each dish, which are written from the points of view of our favorite ATLA friends, make this really fun to flip through. But, flipping through it is probably all I’ll be doing—at least for the time being.I really appreciate the obvious care that went into designing these recipes, but some of the ingredients are so specialized that they might be inaccessible to a lot of people. Most of the recipes are also so fussy that they’re totally impractical, which I understand; this isn’t called “20-Minute Avatar Meals for Busy Families.” If you’re one of those people who loves getting lost in the meditative bliss of fussing with a complicated recipe when you have the time, you’ll definitely enjoy trying your hand at these dishes. But if you’re a novice skilletbender, take things easy and maybe start with one of the drink recipes. Iroh would be delighted.

The book is made well, and the recepies look great.Separating it into nations is SUPER fun, and they really did well with the themes.Even got an extra section I didn't expect, and a few paciluar recipes I REALLY didn't see coming (this is for you, unfried dough fans)But this is post war cook book, which is convenient for getting wheat into water tribe food (imported from the earth kingdom)I wish they had the courage to put more old "treditional" recepies in there.But that's a metter if personal taste, and even with my wishes so far it seems like a 5 stars cook book, perfect for any nerd cookbook collection!

This is a gift for a huge avatar fan. While I watched Avatar as a kid, I don't remember a ton and am not a super fan. That being said, I do love themed cookbooks and this one checks all the majors - Lots of recipes ranging from super easy to more difficult, lots of variety, lots of pictures of the dishes, and lots of the recipes seem unique. The cookbook is well written and has lots of additional backstory and details as well.What sets this book apart is the way it is sorted and the depth. Instead of the traditional way cookbooks are sorted (Appetizers, breakfast, dinner, dessert, etc.) this is sorted by nation/clan which makes it really unique. While I do not know all the lore behind Avatar, I know that all Air Benders are vegetarian(not vegan), and every air bender dish is vegetarian! I think this shows the level of detail and depth that the author put into this book. I am very excited to give this gift.

I'm a fan of Avatar and I also like to cook, when I saw this book I had to buy one. It is hardcover, full color and full of recipes based on the lore of the series.The book is divided in "chapters" each of them being an specific nation, with each nation having their particular dishes based on their geographic zone and culture. It also has a Tea chapter dedicated to uncle Iroh's tea shop and the "interesting" banana and onion smoothy from the Guru.

My kids really love this anime series. I am trying to get them interested in cooking, so I thought this would be a fun book. It is sturdy, colorful, and really brings the story to life in recipes. The only thing is I don't see them eating the majority of the recipes, even if I were to be the one cooking. But that is just a preference. There are some recipes we will try and maybe that will open them up to new foodsm

Bought as a gift for my husband, the recipes are so creative and instructions easy to follow, very eye catching as well, we leave it out as decoration.
