Timex Metropolitan+ 20mm Quick-Release Leather Strap

I bought a Timex Fairfield watch almost five years ago and it still is my favorite watch that I would get compliments on. Over such a long time though, of course, the leather strap gets broken in and a little bit worn, so I was looking for a replacement. All sold out on the Timex website. Saw this on Amazon. Was a little worried about the “tan-perf, silver-tone” because it looked a little swampier and less elegant than I was hoping, but figure I try it anyway due to how worn my strap was getting. After finally getting it, I am extremely satisfied. As seen in the picture, it was exactly how I remembered it. Probably even lighter than my current strap due to years of sweat and hand washing. Bands seem very durable - would expect them to last a very long time. They are quite thick; maybe just a little too much for my angular, bony wrist 🙃 Hopefully they break in, although I wouldn’t expect it quite so soon at this rate.

I purchased this as a replacement band for my Samsung watch. My OG leather band lasted 3.5 years but the leather was starting to wear out. I am not a fan of silicone bands and only wanted another black genuine leather. I looked and finally found this one by Timex. Since they are a legit brand I went ahead and bought it. Looks nice, easy to install and fits fine. The only difference is that this one is a hair longer than my other one. I have an XS wrist and keep the band on the 2nd to last hole, therefore the tail sticks up since the leather is stiff. I am hoping as the leather softens, then it will not be an issue. I only wish they had a bit shorter band.

I was apprehensive because I originally wanted a leather band. But this band is excellent. It was very easy to install. It has small handles on the pins to help insert them. It tightens up easily on the wrist and looks like it will last a long time. I just put it on a week ago, so I really don’t know about its durability, but it looks good.

My original 4-star review is below. After only a matter of weeks, this band decayed and the quick latch mechanism repeatedly failed. It kept falling off my wrist including once at the bottom of a lagoon. Luckily I stepped on my watch and that's the only reason I noticed. Plus it showed dirt very badly and the locked-in-place holder for the surplus strap annoyed me quite a bit the more I wore it. Terrible band and an expensive one at that. Original review:This is a fun band that is brighter than it appears on screen. I dig it, especially for the summer. People ask, is that a new watch? A couple times at night I caught a glimpse from the corner of my eye and before I realized what I was looking at, I thought it was an LED. It's also super light-weight and I barely realize it's on which is great, and good for workouts.On the other hand (pun not originally intended), it has come loose once (which is scary if that were to happen while swimming in the ocean or something) - I was surprised because this is a more expensive band that I bought to replace a cheaper one that did the same thing. Secondly, the loop to hold the "extra" part of the band once tightened is close to the first loop. What this means is, if you have a smaller wrist, you will have a lot of band sticking out sideways, maybe it could snag while typing, etc. Not such an issue for me though it seems an odd design choice to me.Overall, I recommend it.Recommend.

I got the Marlin automatic in green and wanted to make it more versatile so I ordered two different brown bands from timex. The leather quality is nice and soft. The color is nice and light which I prefer. Worth the money in my opinion.
