From Guesswork to Greatness: How Skylety Made Me a Landscaping Pro!
As a landscaper working the green patches of Hampshire, I’ve tangled with plenty of trees, but getting them staked in the right direction was always a bit of a gamble. To address the precise matter of tree staking, I recently acquired the Skylety Navigation Compass - an investment I deemed essential given the blustery southwestern gales. Before this handy gadget, my staking methodology relied upon mere intuition. Now, I pull out the Skylety and instantly know my South West from my North East! Furthermore, I am pleased to report that I have not once lost my bearings whilst traversing the treacherous terrain from worksite to wheelbarrow.Solid 10/10—my trees get staked in the right direction, I can navigate back to the van, and I look like I know what I’m doing!

Does what you need, but pay attention to the heading
This is a cheap and cheerful compass and has served me well on hikes in low visibility. The main issue is the wheel is very loose, and after setting your heading it's easy to knock it off course especially if you wear it round your neck or pack it in your bag. So you have to make a mental note of your heading then set the wheel every time you view the compass. This is fine as long as you're aware of it from the start of your journey, just a bit annoying though. Will buy a better one when I'm able to.

It's just for memories. Not for use these days.
Backpacking through nearby forests. Youth club groups.. If you are off for a country walk, make sure you've potentially, necessary and appropriate kit. Also, don't rely on GPS alone,. Proper equipment, planning and go with an organised group. Why did they remove phone boxes. Now, we'd need to rely on functioning mobile phones?

Not actually pointing north, can’t be laid flat on a surface
Well, these are not good. I assume most people here bought only 1 and thought how good they are. But I needed 4 for my family, and as you can see in the picture, they all are basically pointing into different directions. You could argue that two on the right side are OK, but how can we know for sure? And even if they are true, that means 50% of them are faulty. So if you just bought one and don’t have some standard to measure it against, you won’t know is your compass pointing north or not.Additionally, they aren’t flat at the base. They wobble. You can’t lay them flat onto a map and measure stuff.Just poor design, poor calibration, poor product.

Seems to do the job.
Needed a compass and after looking on Amazon and all the ones that were available I went for the one that was listed as best seller. It arrived promptly and seemed to have everything I need however only time will tell how good it is when I get to use it for the first time.
