Q: What if my shoes are a suede/leather combo?

Hi there, great question! This product is intended for suede and nubuck. It is not recommended for smooth or shiny leathers. If product is a combination of suede and nubuck (no smooth or shiny leather) this product can be used. Always test first, prior to use, for color change. The product may darken or enrich the color tone of the suede or nubuck.

Q: Can this help prevent transfer of dye from pants onto shoes?

Hello! Thanks for asking. Scotchgard(TM) Suede & Nubuck Protector will add water repellency to suede and/or nubuck. However, the product will not prevent transfer of dye from pants onto shoes. Scotchgard(TM) can only be used on colorfast fabrics, so prior to using the product it is important to test in a small area for colorfastness. Great question! Unfortunately, none of our Scotchgard products are recommended for felt/felt hats. We recommend contacting the manufacturer of the product for recommendations.
