So far so good.- value rod
I got mine sept 2020 and am looking to buy more.I hope they did not change quality. Looking at all the 1 star reviews.I took it fishing in california, montana, arizona and belize.Yes the tip is super bendy allowing some fish to set themselves free - pike and bonefish will get off easily. It performs beautifully as long as you don’t try to set the hook like a maniac.Small and big mouth bass, porgy, trout, catfish, bluegill, snapper.Had some snags where I had to yank the lure, hook out of rocks and branches - still works.Aligning the guides takes a while to get used to but gets easier with practice.I also have the blqckhawk which has free floating guides. That is a pain to align. That one has the guides fixed to each segment. It will not replace a fast action or a deep sea fishing rod- you will not be able to catch swordfish with it.But in a pinch, it works. And is fun.Because of the bendy tip you feel uthe fight.I wish kastking would send me some of their products for review. Or at least the missing buttcap - haha I travel a lot. Will be ordering another one and will update here on how it goes.Pros:Portability - can have one in the car all the timeReliable so farNice feel in handLightCons:It takes a little while to get used to casting accurately because of the bendy tipLost the buttcapNo other cons. I enjoy fishing with this rod.

Rod broke after several uses. (Sent a new rod and works great)
Was a decent rod until till it broke on a cast. I wanted to try and get a few more feet on my cast to get my jig a little further so I cast it really hard but when I did, it broke right in the middle. Frustrating because it was a great size and felt really good.Update…..KastKing reached out to me and offered a replacement. The customer service was great and I have to change the review to 5 stars because I received a new rod in the mail and it seems to be solid.

Decent quality
Just got this rod today. Wanted something a little more portable for road trips when I can't take my full size rods. It is a very decent quality and when extended out it feels like about a $70 rod does. Just fine for building a little road trip combo.

Very fragile Rod
This has to be the most fragile rod I’ve ever purchased. Very flimsy and breaks (broke 2) when setting the hook on a fish. Don’t waste your money.

KastKing Compass Fishing Rod - A Must-Have for Anglers!
Honestly, I just can't stop raving about the KastKing Compass Fishing Rod. First of all, upon taking it out of the box, I had to say that it's really a tall and sleek piece; the design screams quality. Be one who has experience or be a beginner in the field- this rod never disappoints. What makes it stand out? First, it's lightweight yet very durable. I have used it in different conditions, from calm lakes to rougher waters, and every time, it performed just great. It has a smooth on-feel when casting and gives excellent control when reeling in your catch. For the price, you’d expect some compromises, but there aren’t any. It’s clear that KastKing has put serious thought into creating a rod that combines performance and affordability. Plus, it’s easy to transport, making it perfect for weekend trips or spontaneous fishing adventures. If you’re looking for a rod that delivers high-end performance without the high-end price, this is it. Highly recommended—don’t hesitate to add this to your gear! ????

Surprised at how nice it is !
Kastking compass telescoping spinning rod 5'6" med/fast (light) tip. It is well made with good materials. This was purchased for small streams and ponds in two specific ways.1. To carry on the Kastking "Blowback" tackle bag.2. Casual kayak fishing.First. I wanted a "kit" that I could easily pick up and walk with. I want to walk/hike/backpack to remote fishing spots. This rod fits nicely on the side of Blowback pack. It compresses down to a very convient length and does not get tangled on branches.Second. On the kayak it is just the right length to handle easily. How does it fish? It fishes very well!First a word of caution. If you mismatch the rod & reel it will not function correctly. Some reviews downgrade products when the problem is the wrong set up. Ok, enough lecturing.I have a reel the matches the rod.It is a pleasure to cast! I have no problem making effortless casts with 1/8 - 3/8 oz lures 50-75 feet. Distance means nothing without accurate lure placement. I can put the lure where I want it.This rod was not purchased for big bass fishing. It is for smaller fish. How does it handle a fish? This morning I caught a largemouth bass and a pumpkinseed. The tip is responsive. I can feel the lure's action and fish strikes. The butt section is strong enough to set the hook and keep the fishes head up. I had no trouble bringing in the fish. This rod feels as nice as my "expensive" ones. I am impressed! It is great fun to use.

Master Crankbaiter!
Best travel rod so far! The compass is what I needed for bass. I would always worry if cats would load up my line while fishing for bass and other smaller fish species as my previous telescopic rods seemed too flimsy for cats. I took this rod out for bass and landed an 18" Bass. 3rd of 4th cast after that I landed a 24" cat. Now fancy that! This rod held its own like a 1 piece or 2 piece rod would've done. Just when I was about to give up on telescopic rods, this rod has changed my mind! Standing ovation for Kastking!

Not a bad rod just fragile, broke on the second day of use
I don’t usually do review and I would’ve gave it a higher rating but the rod broke on the second day I took it out. I bought this for my birthday trip to south Florida. I caught a little stingray and a catfish on it so it held up pretty good. I’d give it a better rating if it didn’t snap as fast and it was on my birthday when it broke so that was pretty upsetting. I might end up getting another one but still pretty pissed about it breaking off a rock before the line but all in all a good rod just wish mine didn’t break.
