Revell 07669 '62 Shelby Cobra 289 1:25 Scale Unbuilt/Unpainted Plastic Model Kit

Kit includes the traditional Ford 289 small block. Full box frame. Seperate hood and trunk. Finned oil pan. There are traditional Shelby wheels (as show on the box) that are chrome (on the outside piece). Chrome valve covers. Four carb (Weslake?) intake setup. There is a half "canvas" type cover for the interior. Vinyl tires with Goodyear molded into them. The decal sheet provides dash gauges, roundels with the # 98, and 5-point seat belts. This looks to be a good kit with plenty of small but detailed parts. The car looks small but that's the way they were compared to the later (and much larger) 427 AC Cobras, but this will make a fine addition to my Cobra model collection once built.

Coolest car so far

Had to return it... pieces were poorly molded and did not fit together well... which is not normal for Revell. Later bought another Revell that was fine.

I bought this as a skill level 5 and the parts list is under 100. Way overpriced, revell was always the best at detail, but lost their way with this one.

I haven't built it yet, but looking it over it appears to be a 427 body, with a small block engine. The grill, the tail lights, the side exhaust, the head lights, the roll bar are all 427. Still a nicely made kit and I'm glad I have it. I'll continue to look for the FIA car, or modify this model to look more 289ish.Great model, well worth having.

I was able to complete this model and am pleased with the results. However, it is the most poorly designed and manufactured model I’ve ever purchased. Lots of flashing and sloppy parts. Many parts were made to simply be glued in place with no male/female pins to guide or secure them in place. The instructions were inaccurate in many places and even failed to include several parts. It looks like there are better Shelby Cobra options out there. I highly recommend skipping this one.
