Very nice steelbook packaging, I really liked that I could remove the region codes so the packaging remains authentic. They Hobbit and Lord of the Rings back great ‘book stops’ for my other Tolkien movies.

The item description doesn't mention this, but this Blu-ray set is only for European countries. The discs don't play because the region code isn't meant for the US. I bought this set from a seller named "Shopville USA" so you can imagine my surprise when I opened the box to see a label that specified this set is made for Europe and Ireland. The seller demands a return, so they can try and peddle this discounted merch to another unsuspecting buyer, so please don't waste your time/money like I have. It's a good price for a reason, and that reason is that they bought it at a low rate and are turning a profit by selling this set to people who can't even watch the discs because of the region. Amazon doesn't help with third-party sellers, so I hope someone sees this review for actual transparency before purchasing!

The discs with the movies will play in a Region 1 coded DVD player but none of the bonus feature discs will play.
