My bearded dragon comes running
Recently adopted a bearded dragon. The person that gave him to me was feeding him meal worms- which after some research I found are not the best thing to feed a very young beardie because they cause a condition caused impaction due to their chitinous shell, so I decided to get the little guy some crickets. When I read about their feeding requirements I almost fell out of my chair -some experts say that young bearded dragons require 30-50 small crickets PER DAY to achieve proper growth. But the idea of housing and feeding hundreds of live crickets in my apartment was too much. So i decided to take a chance with some dead ones. I was shocked at how much my bearded liked them. He's like a bottomless pit- he wont stop eating them unless I stop offering. So I give him 7-10 at a time 2-3 times a day and occasionally give him some mashed butternut squash and greens. He's a happy camper. He gets his protein, and I dont have to chase escaped crickets around the house. It's a win/win.The crickets are very very small (1/4"-1/3"). If your dragon likes hunting, use a pair of dull tweezers to dangle them above it's head. The can is resealable and comes with a small plastic spoon. What you're really paying for here is convenience, and you really get your money's worth.

Bought to supplement bearded dragon food for those times when you are in a bind to get to the pet store or waiting on a shipment of bugs. Wouldn't touch them. Maybe others have different results.

Great alternative to live crickets!
I hate feeding live insects--I know it's debatable whether or not they feel pain, but I don't like to see anything suffer & I think it is stressful for them to be hunted. I do animal rescue & ended up with two African Fat Tailed geckos & a leopard gecko. I was distraught to feed them live crickets & super worms, but then I discovered these canned crickets. One of the fat tails & the leo gobbles them up great. Unfortunately, the other fat tail refuses to eat anything that's not alive, but it still lessens the number of live animals I'm having to feed, not to mention it's much easier than dealing with a tank of stinky feeder insects!I keep the can in the fridge for a few days once opened & then move it to the freezer & it lasts me about a month to feed the two lizards every other day. They look great & have had no health issues.

Good product
I'm giving it four stars because it seems like a great product, but my boxy won't touch them. He's VERY picky though, so that doesn't mean they aren't good. They aren't dry, they're kind of moist, which is neither good nor bad for me, but it might be helpful information for someone else :) I suppose it would make it easier for small reptiles to take bites out of, so that's a plus.

Not a good idea
I purchased these to feed a bearded dragon, when they arrived they were all dead. They should be overnighted. I am new to the dragon scene and I should have realized that they would not survive. This was a waste of my time and money. Will go with a company that overnight's or go to PetSmart.

Plus I hate keeping live crickets
I have two Leopard geckos that I feed with tongs. I wanted to try feeding them canned crickets in addition to their live prey so that I don't have to keep as many live bugs around. I figured that since my leos eat from tongs already that I'd probably be able to get them to eat these. Plus I hate keeping live crickets!I wish I had tried a bigger size. These were pretty small crickets and my leos are on the large size. Plus the crickets are a bit mushy and many of them fell apart so I ended up just having a bunch of tiny pieces of crickets. Lovely right?I was able to get my older leo to eat these but she's not all that crazy about them. My younger lizard seems pretty disgusted by them lol. I can't say I really blame her, as they do have a weird smell. All in all neither my lizards or I were overly impressed with these, but they weren't a total fail. I do think I'll eventually try a bigger size of crickets, maybe another brand, and/or canned bugs other than crickets just to give my geckos more variety.

Great Convenience
When I saw this on Amazon.com I was amazed. The price is the same as you would pay at PetCo or PetSmart. With Amazon Prime free 2-day shipping, can't beat it. I don't always have a lot of time to run to the store to get some food for my gecko. Not to mention the drive, lines at the store, and sometimes even out of stock, which is very frustrating. This is the same can sold on the shelves of the big name petstores. Would definately reocommend purchasing from Amazon.com. Took less than 5 minutes and was at my door in 2 days! - Will definately keep buying this online from here on out, as long as its on Amazon.com.
