Most of these are good sturdy pegs, but a few have faults in the wood, leading to weak points that have snapped. Only one or two though, and just the thin tip of the handle had broken, so still usable, just looks a bit odd. Good strong springs, which was my main requirement.

These are the best wooden pegs I've ever used. They hold your laundry securely, even in windy weather, so you don't have to worry about finding it on the ground or in the neighbour's garden :)

Good sturdy pegs but not as big as I was expecting.

I don't normally leave reviews, but after spending far too long trawling through reviews of the various wooden pegs being sold on Amazon and finding lots of negative ones referring to flimsy springs, pegs that twist when you use them, pegs that fall apart easily, etc, I came across these .....I can confirm the positive reviews for these pegs are correct. They feel nice and smooth, the wood feels strong, the springs feel really solid in operation and they open and close properly (there were only a couple in my set that had a very slight sideways twist in operation but certainly weren't at risk of twisting off the spring and falling apart)....These pegs feel strong and I'm sure will last years - I haven't given five stars for durability because I don't know yet if the springs will rust, but I always store my pegs inside so this shouldn't be an issue. To show how strong these pegs are, I've uploaded a video of them in use on an indoor clothes airer ; they coped with the thick outer bars on the airer - I had to push down fairly hard to get the peg onto the bar (I wouldn't personally peg clothes onto these thicker bars because it would definitely leave an indent in the fabric) but the peg coped with the stress without pinging apart, so I can confirm the spring is nice and strong. The grip of the peg on the thinner bar of the airer was excellent; I tugged the towel downwards and sideways and it stayed in place, so am sure they'll cope very well with a windy day outside. There seemed to be very little sideways movement when trying to pull the towel sideways along the bar. I don't have the type of washing line that droops down under the weight of wet laundry, but if you do and you're looking for wooden pegs that hold your laundry tightly to the line so it doesn't slip and bunch up together, then these are definitely worth a try , especially for under £5.....I am so happy with the quality of these I will be buying another set :)
