Q: Have any recent buyers of the U2720Q had problems with poorly fitting bezels?

Yep. The bottom of the screen bezel has come away in places and uneven within 3 weeks of usage. I was going to send back but Amazon offered a partial refund for me to keep.

Q: To the owners of the U2720Q version: does your monitor randomly go completely black and turn back on after 1 second? Thanks

Yes. Several times. Very annoying. Also it sometimes goes black when I'm in the middle of using it and has to be powered off and back on again. This has resulted in two replacement monitors and all three have had the same problem. As soon as I mention this problem, dell sends a replacement without even a hint of troubleshooting. I suspect this is a known fault.
