All I Ever Wanted
Happy I found this booster seat! I have been using snoozer brand seats for 15 years. I like the height they offer but the arm rests are not reinforced and can sag. I am not using the cover that came with the seat, instead I put a soft travel cushion in the seat and then covered it with a waterproof pet blanket that is easy to swap out and wash. I have 2 of these seats and they work really well for my pomeranians.

Perfect safety seat for small dogs
After my 20 lb French bulldog mix collapsed his previous flimsy carseat by chewing through the supporting frame on one of the sides, I spent quite a bit of time looking for a new one that would be safe and durable, I came across the Solvit safety seat. I really liked that the restraint tether connects to your car seatbelt and not the carseat itself. My dog kept getting ridiculously tangled in the tether that was connected to the bottom of his previous carseat because it comes up from underneath him to his back where it connects to his harness and it was constantly getting wrapped around his leg or torso. The Solvit tether, when connected to the shoulder belt, does not wrap around him.I almost didn't buy this seat because of all the reviews saying how difficult it was to assemble, or how flimsy and brittle the plastic was. I'm really glad I order it anyway because the assembly directions were very clear and easy to follow, and I did not find the plastic brittle or flimsy. It bent where it was supposed to and didn't crack. And it held up to my 40lb daughter sitting in it. The frame took literally five minutes to put together and did not require any amount of strength. I'm not a handy person at all by the way. Every hole has a letter by it and the tab that goes into the hole has the same letter. All that's required is that you put the tab into the corresponding hole, making sure the smooth side of the pieces faces into the seat interior and the holey side faces out, and then you slide the tab into place. That's it. It took me longer to figure out how the fabric goes on the frame than it did for me to assemble the frame itself, but that's probably because I tried to do it without reading the instructions at first. So, the takeaway is, read the instructions. Then everything will be easy. Haha! After the seat is assembled, my dog jumped into it right away and proceeded to chew a cow ear in it. The cow ear fell out a few times and he jumped out, picked it up, and jumped back into the seat to continue chewing. So I guess he really likes the seat and has no trouble getting in and out of it! I was worried that the seat wasn't deep enough when I looked at it online, but as you can see from my photo, it does have depth to it so that the dog wouldn't fall out. In fact it's probably the perfect depth so that a small dog can easily get in by itself. When installed in the car, the Solvit seat raises my dog to the perfect height to see out of the window of my Acura MDX. The top of the seat comes to the bottom of the car window. The seatbelt went through easily and holds the seat securely. It barely budges when pulled on in the bucket front passenger seat even though there is a gap between the Solvit seat and the backrest of the bucket seat. The Solvit seat does not fit in the back passenger seat with a child carseat installed in the middle, at least not in my SUV. It's slightly wider than the width of my bucket seats, which probably is why it's secure and stable in a bucket seat, but means it takes up slightly more room.Overall a perfect carseat for my little dog! Do not hesitate to get it if you're on the fence like I was!

Love the Booster Seats - exactly what I was looking for
I actually bought 2 of these. One for each of my two small (17- 20 lb) terrier-mix dogs. They are exactly what I was looking for. We bought a new Subaru Forester with leather seats. We live on the coast so we have a couple wet sandy dogs back there pretty often. Wanted to protect the new car.First, I put down a protective waterproof seat cover (Microfiber Dog Seat Cover Hammock Pet Car Seat Protector for Cars SUV Small Medium / Large Dogs, Dark Grey (X-Large)). This allows me to prevent the "kids" from moving out of their booster seats into the front seat and gives the leather seat extra protection from the booster seats. The booster seats fasten in tightly with the car's seat belts. The booster seats don't move at all. In fact, it was a bit of work to get them fastened in. I had NO trouble assembling the seats. There are 4 basic plastic pieces that tightly snap together. The cover goes on easily. The instructions had good pictures to follow along. It was easy. Both booster seat boxes arrived when expected and in good condition. ( I am a 65-yr old woman.)There is a strap that fastens to the seat belt and passes through the back of the booster seat. This is attached to harnesses I bought for the "boys" (BPS Voyager - All Weather No Pull Step-in Mesh Dog Harness with Padded Vest for Puppy and Cats - Black Base, Medium). This gives them added protection for highway driving or anytime I feel they might need it. The strap has a heavy carabiner-type clip to attach to their harnesses. I purchased lighter weight (but still sturdy) stainless steel ones to replace the too heavy ones (Homder 8 Pack Silver Spring Snap Hook Stainless Steel Snaps 304 Clip Keychain Jungle Fast Hang Outdoor Snap Clip,Holds up to 154lb/70KG(Max). I'm sure I'll find a use for the heavy-duty ones sometime. My boys love their new booster seats. When they sit up, they can see out the window. I roll the window down a little for good sniffs on sunny days. It's fantastic. One of my dogs is nervous in the car and previously wanted to sit in my lap all the time (which I didn't feel was safe for him). Now he curls up and EVEN WENT TO SLEEP on a long road trip recently. This is a very good thing. The boys feels safe and secure in their new seats.I am using the pillow that came with the seat. It's lightweight and moves around some. I may swap those out someday for something else. But, for now, they're working. All in all, this was a good purchase, good price, good product. Making us ready for the next road trip!

Comfortable , secure , durable
Our furry friend absolutely adored this dog car seat and booster. It elevated him just enough to peek out the window, satisfying his curiosity and making car rides a joy for him. As pet parents, we felt tremendous peace of mind knowing he was safely secured, especially during longer journeys. The seat proved incredibly comfortable for our pup. He'd often curl up and nap contentedly, even on extended trips. Its sturdiness was impressive - it held up well through regular use without showing signs of wear.Sadly, our beloved companion passed away last year. However, the quality and durability of this seat mean it's still in great condition. I'm now passing it on to my daughter for her new puppy, confident it will provide the same safety and comfort for the next generation of four-legged travelers. If you're looking for a reliable, comfortable way to keep your dog safe and happy during car rides, I highly recommend this car seat and booster. It's a worthwhile investment for any dog owner who frequently travels with their pet.
