Mung beans are the traditional beans used to grow sprouts for Asian cooking but purchasing good quality mung beans especially FOR sprouting is really important. These came well recommended and are perfect. Save your money and skip the fancy sprouting gizmos once you buy the mung beans but do view Maangchi's sprouting video on YouTube. She grows TONS of sprouts with simply a flower pot and bowls you already have in your kitchen--and after following her instructions, I grow huge harvests of mung bean sprouts with her method and these beans! No need for sprouting trays, jars, draining tops, etc. For Alfalfa sprouts, a sprouting tower works best but for mung beans, a simple flower pot works best. So get sprouting and enjoy!

These beans are great! They start sprouting within 24 hours, and grow faster than we and our birds can eat them! In the few batches I’ve done I haven’t seen a single bean that didn’t sprout. As they sprout so quickly I’m o my sprouting ¼ cup or less per batch to prevent waste. My first batch turned into little plants (with leaves!) within a few days, so we ended up just planting those. For our first try sprouting, they were amazing!! Great if you want to try your hand. And they’re delicious!!

I wanted to try and grow my own sprouts since it's SO simple but they're not very cheap in the stores. All you need is a kit with some bottle covers that strain out the water and they also have a few bumps in them when you put the bottle upside down so air can circulate.These took 5-7 days but I used 3 tbsp and it almost filled a 1/2 gallon mason jar. Delicious as well.

I have tried many different types and brands of sprouts over the years. These mung beans are tasty and sprout withing days. I highly recommend them. Delicious!

I grew these in Ball jars several times. They are quick and easy to sprout and taste great!

I purchased this as I was having an issue with my other Mung Beans as finding a lot of unsprouted beans and very painful on the teeth. These are better although still finding a few hard ones so I need to check very carefully, although I must say much improved, Yes, I'll be buying these again.

For health reasons, I sprout mung bean sprouting seeds and eat them in a salad, and I think the germination rate of the seeds is about 75%.
