Worked great! I drilled a hole in my desk for this and used a 51mm hole saw drill bit. It fit well but wasn’t snug until I put about 2 layers of gaffer tape around the grommet before pushing it back in the hole and that worked perfectly.

It’s 1 7/8”. Might be fine if you’re not looking at exact size. Bough few different brand and they’re all either 1 7/8 or 1 3/4…

Like most products like this these are not precision cast to chamfer/expand/etc. to fill holes of various sizes. As such for a 2” hole drilled in wood with a pretty typical name brand wood but these are too small by a smidge. Two or so wraps of electrical tape fixed that issue without having to resort to glue or silicon. Beyond that they work pretty well. The insert completely comes out and you can adjust the view of the smaller hole as well. I took off 1 star for the firmament issue but beyond that a much better deal than 1 for the same price at Lowe’s that I bought previously.

Contrary to what another review said, I would go with a 2 inch hole saw vs. the 1 7/8 as I cut the hole using the 1 7/8 and then had to grind the hole larger to fit this item. I would prefer the alternative of putting tape on the item to fit the larger hole if I had to versus having to make the hole larger after using the 1 7/8. Having said that the item works once the hole is the right size. My cables look much better under my desk.

I bought these after needing to drill a hole in our butcherblock built-in tops in order to put a lamp cord through. I used a 2.5 inch hole saw drill but and with a little electrical tape (as suggested in some other reviews) around the base it fit perfectly!

The sleeve diameter is less than 2 inches so I had to wrap the sleeve in painters tape to give it more girth. What's the good of a sleeve that slides around and pops out when the wires catch it? The painters tape trick worked but a disappointment to have an extra step to get it to work for me. Consider bigger ribs on the outside of the sleeve to sit better in the hole. Plain plastic pieces should not be so expensive.
