King of shears
These hefty shears are approaching the size limits of hand operated scissors. They are sharp with great build quality - just be careful what you cut doesn't dull them (e.g. fiberglass and carbon fiber may dull them faster than Kevlar or other softer fabrics - use the knife edge for softer fabric and the "blunt" more square edge for the tough stuff).

Replaces my 25 yr old pair
In construction a good pair of wiss scissors can do things that almost nothing else can do. You can cut most stuff with a razor, knife, etc. Scissors allow a clean cut. I got my first pair of wiss in the early 90’s. They have been sharpened many, many times and are still working well but are definitely showing signs of age. I did retire the old pair to the Christmas wrapping kit. I had actually forgotten that mine originally had black handles, but that wore off long ago. There is no pair of scissors that even comes close to these. If you are cutting a roll of rubber, non-woven fabric, or similar you will be left with a completely straight, even cut edge. Don’t make your materials look like an amateur performed the work. I did upgrade from 10” to 12” and I have to say I like the 12” better. If you need a pair of scissors for fabrics, construction materials, or anything else - I encourage you to look no further.

Needs better QC
I work in aviation and require an industrial scissor to cut through composite fabric. I have used many different scissors/shears such as Fiskars and Ghinger to name a couple. Out of all the scissor brands I have encountered in my line of work, Wiss is the one I see the most. With that being said, these scissors fall dreadfully short of my expectations.Cons:1. The blades were not tuned at all. I would say 70 percent of the blade was sharp, the rest was not deburred or honed. The burrs catch on the material which is unacceptable. Also, one of the burrs was so big it would stop the scissor from closing smoothly. I used a whetstone to take out the burrs. That shouldn't be necessary for a scissor of this caliber and "quality."2. The action was overly stiff. This is expected out of the box and not broken in. However, it was way over tightened making them difficult to operate. I loosened the bolt a little which helped but created another problem. In order to use the whole length of the scissor I would have to loosen it up so much that there was slop between the cutting surface.Pros:1.After I deburred the scissor myself it cuts through the thickest material like butter.2. Large blade allows me to cut through large areas quickly and straight. Which helps lessen rough edges.3. Easy to "drag" through material which alleviates having to use a razor or box cutter.Overall: I am unhappy with this purchase. Mainly because this is a high dollar scissor with a strong background for quality. I feel that my issues could have been easily remedied with better Quality Control at the manufacturing plant. I thought I was going to get a better product that my $15 dollar scissors that I have been using. This was one time I was wrong to think price = better quality.

Beautiful and Hefty
I am very excite for these new scissors... the tips are so sharp!!!My only negative criticism would be that the packaging was insufficient! These are a tool and as such should have been carefully wrapped!

Finish is lousy
Im sure they would cut fine but they look like they were made in a third world country. Not polished and just kinda rough. If you dont mind industrial looking you probably wont have an issue.
