Very Nice!
Beautiful speakers and stands. The build quality of both is extremely good. The sound is very good, detailed, and not fatiguing, with great low, mid, and highs. Leave the grills on! I'm driving them with a Sony HAP-S1 at 40W per channel. That's my entire system. The boxing was done very well and the speakers and stands were well protected even though the boxes took a beating. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Perfect Sound with Vintage Look
I struggled to select the perfect speakers. Plenty of research brought me to these. I have collected, repaired, and sold many vintage components, so have a sense of what I like. These are my first pair of modern speakers in thirty years. That said, these speakers truly are remarkable. The sound to my ears is like nothing I’ve heard before. Clear, wide, deep, and detailed is my assessment.I have them attached to a Willsenton R8 tube amp, and can switch to a Marantz 2265 receiver. Both sound great, but the R8 is unbelievable. I have them in a smaller office about 12” from the wall with some toe-in. Base is tight and not boomy.

Designed In The UK And Well Made In China
I really like these old school style speakers I don`t care for the tall skinny tower speakers. The Wharfedale - Linton speakers have a warm sound and good bass (not booming), I have a sub-woofer set at a moderate level running along with these speakers and I recommend doing that, but it`s not a must. The highs from the tweeters are subtle and the mids are warm. I don`t know about brake-in time, but it takes a while to find the right placement in the room to get the best sound stage. I got the stands with mine, but they sound good just on the floor with some rubber feet if you want to save some money and get a set without stands, you can buy the stands separately later when available. I have the speakers hooked to a Vincent SV-237MK amp and I listen to the speakers direct (with the tone controls turned off). These speakers are made in China and designed in the UK, I understand no one likes to see products from their country outsourced, but I live in the US, so either way these speakers are imports to me :) China is making some high quality items these days. I kidded by buddy in KY that a lot of things he buys from Walmart are made in China, he replied - " Nothing could be finer then to be made in Chiner" :)Google search: Wharfedale speakers are designed and engineered in England, but the parent company, International Audio Group, is in Shenzhen, China. Wharfedale manufacturers every part of the Linton in their 1.5 million square foot factory in Jiangxi Province, China.Jun 8, 2019

Excellent sound
I bought these speakers to complete a 7.2 surround sound setup and use them as rear speakers. They are holding their own against competition from high quality towers and center speaker. They are quite competent in the low frequencies, too. But two dedicated woofers take care of the low sound spectrum. I tested them separately using tube amplifiers and found them reproducing sound from vinyl records very cleanly, warm and accurately. I am not an audiophile, yet, I am sure that these Wharfedale Lintons can please discriminating listeners. Mine are broken in by now and they sound balanced, clear and produce fine detail. The stands provide excellent support but should be a bit higher. Overall, this purchase was very pleasing in terms of price vs performance.

That sound tho..!
Besides their classic good looks (especially with the matching stands) the sound from these speakers is spectacular.I did notice they needed a break-in period as they sounded too heavy/off-balance in the low end initially, but after several hours of playing they started showing their true colors and are now rendering sound beautifully across the spectrum.I am using these speakers for music listening only (as opposed to home theater, etc.) and I do have a subwoofer, but this is one set of speakers that could definitely stand alone without a sub, at least for my purposes (straight music listening). If they are in your budget range -I would highly recommend the Linton 85's.

Great sound stage! Easy on the ears!
I can listen to this speakers for hours without fatigue. I am not a audio snob. However, I want the speakers to provide realism of the original performance and not distract me with its own personality. The Lintons do just that! I love the fact that I can listen through these speakers for hours and hours at a time. However, beware. When brand new, the speakers need to get broken in. Longer one listens, the better the sound gets. After listening to the speakers for about a month, it has now become a fine fine musical instrument! Brings much joy!

Beautiful, but don't live up to the hype. Expensive to return.
I read and watched reviews about these for the last few years. I have a few audiophile quality speakers, and was looking forward to adding these to my collection. The cabinets and stands are beautifully made. However, if you're used to listening to high resolution, neutral speakers, these may disappoint. I found that the sound was unbalanced and boxy sounding. So, even though the cost of returning them was nearly $500, I knew that I would end up not listening to them, and didn't want to keep them around.
