It really does work
This is my second one. I also have 2 of the bigger ones. To the non believers out there all I can do is tell u how I know it works. I have had my first one for over 8 yrs. now. I bought that one to put in a room I have my cockatiels in. It is an enclosed room and I wanted something that didn't have an ionizer and I didn't want to deal with changing filters. After a time I bought another kind with a filter took this one out thinking it probably wasn't doing a thing and put the new one with filters in the Tiel room.. Next morning I went in to feed the birds and it smelled like a chicken coop in there! I immediately took the new purifier out and put the old one back in and after a few hours the smell was gone! I know it works now. The top of my old one eventually cracked I guess with age so I replaced it with the same one and bought a bigger one for another room. I put my old Airfree next to my cats litter box and it took care of business. So to those that think this is a scam....think again...it works!!

Doesn't fulfill what it is intended for
I ran the machine a few months before giving a review, because, as most people have noted, it is a mystery if it works or not? For me, the answer is no. It IS quiet, it DOES get very hot, but it does not "eliminate" odors, it does not remove dust, it does not prevent or eliminate mold, all of which would be the reasons I purchased the machine. It is a foot tall, fairly expensive, doesn't have any buttons, switches, knobs, or controls, just a constant blue light that I assume is suppose to let people know it is ON, but, alas, it does not DO anything...

Before you buy this one, remembe that other hepa filters need new filters constantly. You might get a good price on on another product that might rope you in, but you'll be paying for the life of the air cleaner. I found out about the LOTUS on The Grommet dot com. However, the LOTUS is really expensive for something new.We live in an old, renovated home and my allergies are really bad. In light of COVID-19 and the fact that it scrubs bacteria and viral material, we decided it would be a great idea. Amazon sold them too and they offer this one at a much lower price so we got it as a test model. My oxygen saturation levels in the bedroom are 3-4% higher than they were before it had been running for a few days. Do be cautious, the filter less component is that it has ceramic coils and can be broken if you aren't careful. Just like a bowl, you can break it.I say this because the company got one star from some angry lady that admitted it didn't work after she dropped or kicked it over a few times. That's so unfair to the company.

Helpful and economical filterless air purifier
I purchased one of these several years ago, and it has served me well in keeping my house from smelling like a cat litter box. I recently bought two more to put in other rooms, but while the new ones are good, they just do not seem as effective as the older one. I tested them out first in the bathroom since I have a good idea of how well the first one works. I unplugged the older one and plugged in one of the new ones. It helps, but I can smell the cat’s business when I walk into the bathroom. It does take most of the smell away, but it isn’t as good as the older one. The plastic material is also different. My older one has more of a matte finish, while the new ones are made with a glossy plastic material. It’s still a good purchase since you never have to change any filters. Also, they are totally silent.

Seemed to work perfectly for 5.5 years until today 1/18/2024
I liked it's small footprint as it was perfect for use in a windowless bathroom and made no noise and required no filters...and seemed to work perfectly, adding heat to a cold old apt. in dusty old NYC, which is nice. However, it had one fluke...the blue light, indicating on, always was on sometimes and sometimes off, though the heat was constant, until today. I know the warranty is only for 2 years. . .and as far as its effectiveness, I cannot vouch for it, since I live in a 420 sq.ft. apt. in 50 y.o. nyc rundown bldg that does not enforce no smoking...and it was bought for its footprint to accompany 3 large WINIX hepa aircleaners and one airwise aircleaner that requires a module change once a year. None of them do anything about odors, though they all make claims to eliminate them. As far as eliminating viruses and molds, i cannot vouch for that, as I have multiple allergies and am forever trying to figure out what is causing what other than NYC's awful pollution problem...which made the pandemic a relief, as planes were grounded and most traffic was at a minimum...it was quiet and peaceful until the city started tearing up all the trees to construct 4 17-story buildings on my block. This was considered "essential" in a pandemic. At any rate, this is the story all over Queens, now..any green space is eliminated for more housing. . .much of which remains empty. . .so i am still reaping the benefits of redbrick dust in my aircleaners, which go through more filters than they are supposed to. So I am forever looking for things that don't require filters. . .I also liked that it was made in Portugal, as I have found that things I have had for years that were made in Spain and Portugal seem to last a lot longer than those made in other countries I will not mention here, since it doesn't seem relevant. I did make it through the pandemic without getting sick or taking any vaccines...so, whether it kills stuff is moot. . .it may or may not. How would you know? However, I am unlikely to replace it at the price it is offered for...and sleep mode gets one star since i could not use it in a bedroom due to the blue light, but it was the perfect one for a bathroom and I love the design, though the current ones displayed on the website look different and seem to have slightly different specs. Mine says wattage is 42 watts...and the current model says 30 something...i think it was 32.
