Anti Freeze Mats
Purchased these anti freeze mats for my new 12cubic foot chest freezer. After the initial interior cleaning of the freezer as recommended by the manufacturer, and it’s brought up to temperature ( usually for at least 6 hours) the freezer mats are placed at the bottom of the freezer to ensure that any items that are placed within the freezer will not freeze to the base of the freezer. Works as intended.

Very Good & Can Be Taped
I purchased one 2-pack at the same time I purchased a 7-cu foot chest freezer, which is located in a nook of my condo unit. I placed the mats on the bottom of the freezer. After 12-months, I did need to defrost the freezer. There was NO frost on the mats and directly next to them and the frost, in general, was much less than I had expected. Therefore, I purchased six more mats (three 2-packs) and freezer tape.Using the freezer tape, I was able to cover every interior surface that could collect frost. (It was a bit tricky bending over enough to tape the mats near the bottom of the freezer, however.) I then found I needed to increase the cold setting to 5.5 from 4.5 (seven levels) to freeze ice cubes (plastic trays) and ice cream in the same time as before, yet the increase in electricity usage has been none to minimal. It has now been eight months since I placed the eight mats in the freezer. I have not seen or felt any frost on any surface of the freezer or on stored food items. I am extremely pleased; the mats truly are "No Frost, Anti-Ice."

Okayy, I guess it depends on your freezer
I have 5 ft.³ garage ready chest freezer. In the six weeks since purchasing the freezer and these pads, there is a small amount of frost that has an accumulated along the top of the interior, about 8 inches high and a quarter inch thick. I am hoping that it will not get any thicker.

They are not practical because if they don't touch every surface then the frost grows.
This product works only if it is against all of the surfaces the walls. All surfaces need to be covered or the frost will continue to grow. I suggest that you use a rubber type product like the one seen in the picture. Since the blue product didn't cover every spot I used the white padding and it works great. I'm not sure what the white padding is. I think it is sold to use under a throw rug so the rug stays in place. I used zip ties to attach all the padding. I covered the inside and the outside of the freezer box. As you can see in the picture, the blue produce takes up a lot of space. I will probably use the white padding instead of the blue to gain a little more space. So no, I would not recommend this product. Try some type of rubber padding like I suggested.Update: the freezer still needed to be defrosted quite often while using these pads. While defrosting I punctured a line in the freezer. All of the freon leaked out.I threw it away and purchased a mini fridgerator w/out a freezer. I wish I knew that I could buy a mini fridge W/O a freezer then none of this would have been an issue.

Highly recommend
I purchased a box freezer that is not frost free and after 6 months still do not need to defrost it. So am pretty sure these have a lot to do with that! A tiny bit of frost around the door so thin easy to scrape right off. Highly recommend these.
