Detailed Review: Bye Bye Waxing
I have been using Philips epilators for years now. I had a previous one from Philips which served me loyally for about 8-9 years until it finally gave up. I didn't think twice about investing in a *Philips* epilator. If you use this correctly, you could end up never having to go to a salon for waxing again and shell out thousands of rupees, not to mention the discomfort of stripping in front of strangers, the hot wax, rashes, possible burns and the general inconvenience of having to plan everything in advance. The best part of using any epilator is that you can remove hair anytime, anywhere, as long as you can find the time and space(+an electric socket for wired ones) to do it. A couple of things I'd like to share about this particular epilator:I went for the wired model instead of a wireless one because, of course, it costs less, but more importantly, I did not want the hassle of having to charge the epilator in advance.I chose this particular epilator-cum-shaver/trimmer because this is all one needs to groom their body hair by themselves. The epilator itself does the job, and the shaver head works great for trimming. You won't get the smoothness of having used a razor, but you also won't develop razor burns/itching etc that is generally associated with razors. You also do not need to invest in any additional creams/foams/oils that are required with razors. The shaver head also comes with a trimming attachment that allows you to control the length of the hair you want to retain, and can also be considered a safety cap, if you're concerned about using it on your pubic region. The shaver head works great for grooming your underarms and pubic region where it might be too painful to use the epilating head. Of course, it would need to done more frequently because the shaver doesn't pull out hair from the roots, but only shaves the shaft growing outside the skin.If you have a high pain tolerance, you can easily use the epilator head on your underarms. However, do keep your skin extra taut, or your skin might catch in the tweezers of the epilator and get nicked. As far as the problem of ingrown hairs goes, it is true that you might get them with using an epilator. But you may also get them with waxing (I did). In order to avoid that problem, consider regularly scrubbing the epilated area with body scrubs (or, you could easily buy a pair of scrubbing gloves, which are cheaper, more sustainable and last for years with proper hygiene). However, avoid scrubbing immediately after epilating as it could irritate your skin.In my years of experience using epilators, which is about 11 now, I have developed a routine that works for me.I scrub vigorously a day before I plan on using the epilator. This helps in bring the ingrown hair to surface and gives a much smoother finish the next day. This isn't compulsory, of course, in case you're in a time crunch, but it helps the epilation to last much longer. Before epilating, I make sure that my skin is absolutely clean and dry, and doesn't have any water/sweat or lotion/oil on it. It makes the entire process much faster because you don't have to keep going over the same area repeatedly.I like to take a bath with a cap or two of Dettol post epilation as a sort of anti-septic precaution, followed by thorough moisturization. You can also apply aloe vera gel to soothe your skin, especially if it's rather angry after the process.I tend to epilate every two weeks or so, in order to epilate while the regrowth is still short. Shorter hair makes the entire epilation much less painful. In case you have longer hair, or are using this for the first time, do consider shaving it off and waiting for the hair to regrow to a smaller length, or just use the shaver head and trim it to a shorter length. It is much less painful when the hair is short.Do remember to clean your epilator after EVERY USE. This lessens your chances of introducing any bacteria into your skin while epilating. You can use a brush to dust off the visible hair from the epilator head, as well as the shaver head(the blade on top is detachable too). I like to wash them under running water and just dip them in water a cap of Dettol, as an extra step to disinfect. If you're washing the attachments please do remember to leave them in an airy place where they can dry out, so as not to let it develop any kind of fungus or rust, or develop any kind of water damage.Once you get the hang of it, an epilator is much more convenient, sustainable, cheap and generally comfortable to use than to go to parlours and salons. It's an investment.Philips epilators do what they claim and I would highly recommend it to anyone planning to buy an epilator. They last ages with proper care. Cannot recommend it enough.

Not for beginners
This is a very good solution if you don’t want to go parlour every 15 days. In hands it is very painful so if your using it in hands make sure to tighten your skin and it can leave bumps. In legs its easy to use no much pain but it must be short hairs not very long otherwise very painful. After few use you will get used to it. You can use this every week if your hairs grow really fast. Don’t use it on face it’s not for your face use only on body parts.

worth the investment
I decided to order this epilator, seeing the current pandameic situation, which has caused the salons to remain shut. I did alot of research, saw a lot of tutorials on how to use it, read alot of reviews of this product on amazon. There were some negative reviews as well due to which I was doubting the product and second guessing to order it or no. But reading alot of positive feedbacks as well, I decided to go ahead & purchase it. I am soo glad that I took the right decision and purchased this epilator. Worth the amount spent on it & loved the results which I got after using it as well :) I have a very sensitive skin, but using this epilator didn't cause any sort of major skin issue. I tested the epilator on a small patch of my hand and it's been 3 days since I did the epilation, that much patch feels like I have waxed it. Results same as the salon. The trimmer comb & shaving attachment is just wow. The length of my hair has grown quite alot on my hands & legs, so first I trimmed the hair length & the attachments worked so smoothly and how the comb made the trimming process so easy. I was scared about using the shaver but with the comb attachment, it was really easy to use. After trimming, I followed the pre epilation process properly which was, wetting my hand under mildly but bearable hot water, exfoliating and then finally epilating. The process of epilating was soo smooth, not at all painfull because the length of my hair was short, yes a pricky feeling I did experience asthe hair was getting pulled, which is obvious, but it was bearable. so much better than the painful salon experience. Afer the epilation was done, that much patch did become a little red, which used to happen even after waxing, so it's normal. I immediately applied fresh aloe vera gel followed by lacto calamine lotion on the epilated part for coolness, soothness & to calm the skin down. So after the usage of it my verdict is, worth the investment, best product ever invented and best to purchase. No more painfull waxing experience. This is a lifetime relief for me and a very practical option compared to waxing. PROS : 1) Economical & cost effective one time investement for life time amazing results2) Hair as short as 0.5 mm can be epilated, which cannot happen in waxing.3) No more waiting for hair to grow a certain lenght like for waxing, as I mentioned above, shortest length of hair can be epilated. The main & best reason to purchase it4) Can be done anytime of the day5) Can be carried along as well. So when travelling or on a holiday, can do epilation then also. So can be done anywhere as well6) The epilator head is washable as well, so cleaning made even more betterCONS :1)Machine makes noise2)Epilation process is time consuming. For those who need to trim first & then epilate, more time consuming for them, for those who can skip the trimming step & straight epilate, a little less time consuming but still, takes a little time3)Hair gets epilated in really small numbers compared to waxing where in one shot, 1/2 the arm gets waxedMy final verdict : Doesn't matter what the CONS are, they not only outnumber but outbeat the PROS in every way. It's worth it in every way. And the main reason due to which I purchased the epilator is that hair can be epilated as short as 0.5 mm. SHORT HAIR CAN BE EPILATED, this feature makes it every worth buying the product. Now no more painful salon waxing for me. No more waiting for hair to grow a certain length. The epilator has fulfilled all my grooming needs and has made my grooming experience easy, smooth & flexible, My personal experience, very happy & satisfiedNOTE:To ensure a smooth & satisfing epilation, please do the pre epilation & post epilation process properly
