The placemat is thicker than others I have purchased in the past, and hence seems more durable. The lamination itself is fairly heavy and there is a 1/2" border of lamination around the actual map of the world. I have had other placemats where the lamination was only 1/8" beyond the map and those often over time would allow moisture in when they were washed, causing separation and damage to the placemat. Colors are bright and vivid, with lettering clearly identifying each state. Very easy to read. Seas and oceans are also identified. Not a lot of excess and unnecessary information to busy-up the map, which is how I like it.

My 8 year old map enthusiast love this set of maps. Love to draw boarders on the back and make pretend territories like playing DummiNation. It cleans easily with soap and water. Though he pointed out some geographical errors on the maps and googled it to verify and he was definitely right.For example: Yucatán peninsula doesn’t look right and Belize is marked wrong, Japan map should not have the northern islands which belongs to Russia, and Burundi should not have a long tail.It’s amazing how these kids are so smart but this product has been a very interactive and spent more time on the dinner table. Would highly recommend it.

So fun. It’s a really good tool to show our daughter the country/continent of Australia. We did a presentation for her class and it was a very good visual tool.

I bought this with the intent on using it to teach about the states and regions around the U.S. not for a placemat to eat off of. I was wondering if it was a good idea because I wasn't sure about how the size of the print, information and quality would be but it exceeded my expectations. Its a very colorful, perfect, well made, contains incredible information and very well laminated all for an amazing price. Its the perfect size for teaching at home or a homeschool setting. I had looked at poster and map of the U.S. but they were not laminated or if they were they were kinda pricey boring colors. I wanted something that would be interesting to my kids and colorful. This truly was perfect and am so pleased with the purchase. I would recommend this product and think its perfect for educational use.

These are absolutely spectacular. Everything is clear and easy to read. Just buy them, no matter whether you’re an adult or for a child that you are teaching. I’d have to say these are pretty much perfect. Well worth the money!!!

We are very pleased with the quality of this placemat. The color coding makes it easy to tell the continents apart. Our six year old stares at it while eating, and reads aloud the names of the countries, which are legible even for small countries. He is absorbing the information without having to be drilled in it - every day, almost every meal, picking up new tidbits of geography.Also, quality-wise, the Tot Talk brand placements have super lamination - semi-rigid, thick grade. Not dishwasher safe, but the best of the laminated learning placemat brands.We also recommended the US states map from Tot Talk, which goes well with this one.
