Perfect for Ruger SR1911 Commander
Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Commander, a perfect fit right off the bat and without any of the hard draw problems reported by some reviewers. This holster holds my pistol firmly and it is very hard to remove when both are held in the hand. On the waist, a little but firm jerk is all that is required to make a clean draw every time. This holster mounts and dismounts from the waist easily, but has an under belt ledge that keeps it in place unless you are purposely trying to remove the rig. The fit against my side is perfect – close to my side and very comfortable, with the butt of the gun staying in against my side. I mostly wear this about the 3 o'clock position and it doesn't bother my hip bone at all.The pistol's retention is mostly built into the trigger guard area, which is fully covered by the holster. Length-wise, the 4.25" barrel on my Commander is about the same length as the holster, about even with the barrel bushing, so only the tiny bit of the barrel that extends beyond the bushing sticks out below the holster – all in all a perfect fit.

Good value and good product
I bought this holster to carry a Ruger SR1911 - 4 inch. It was very, very, very stiff at first. Following the Fobus advice online to properly break in the holster I inserted and removed the pistol 200 times. I recommend 500 times. Each time the trigger guard removes a tiny bit of what is prohibiting a smooth release. Thus it gradually confrms to your unique pistol. I spent years in law enforcemnt with various handguns and holsters. The most comfortable I ever wore was a simple leather pancake holster for a 357. This holster is just as comfortable to carry. It does require some getting used to. Merely pulling the pistol out is not going to work. It requires a snap pull to overcome the "grab" of the holster on the triger guard. And it does hang a slight amount below the bottom of your belt. A jacket must therefore be a little long. Not a trench coat but more like a Carhart hoodie. I haven't tried a shirtail because it is cold here. 4 degrees this morning. I think I can hide the pistol under a shirt tail if needed. For $20 this is about as good as it gets. It is NOT as hidden as inside the pants but it is a whole LOT more comfortable.

I have a 4.25 1911 and this was a perfect fit.
I like the way this holster positions the weight a little below the belt. It's very comfortable and goes on and off easily. I wish it had cant adjustments. It's riveted to a fixed angle, but I'm very happy with it. I was worried because my 1911 is only 4.25 inches and I didn't want extra holster sticking below the barrel. This fits my gun perfectly.

Works with Crimson Trace lasers
I tested the holster with a S&W 1911 .22 caliber pistol with a Crimson Trace laser-sight in the grip. The Crimson Trace laser-sight stops just short of making contact with the holster, making this a viable choice of holster for Crimson Trace lasers.Operation:Inserting the gun into the holster is easy and can be done as slowly as desired. The gun snaps into place securely after a certain distance. Drawing the gun back out of the holster is not the same- as it requires a swift & forceful movement along the gun's cant (slanting angle) in the holster. According to the instructions it is designed that way for safety reasons- like if someone were trying to grab your weapon it would make it a lot more difficult to pull the gun out. Drawing incorrectly results in a forceful upward tugging of the pants as the holster grabs against my belt; which looks really stupid when it happens- and would put me at negative coolness points with friends. So some practice is going to be required here.Otherwise, the holster fits on my military-grade belt just fine and works as advertised. It would be nice if you could modify the drawing resistance but this particular model does not let you do that.

Great holster
First paddle style holster... works great with my Taurus PT 1911, nice and snug, not too tight or loose at all... Tried it with my GSG 1911 22lr, but it has a rail sight, and wouldnt fit the holster...Only complaint is that its not easy to remove the holster from a tight belt to switch sides or take it off... but for 20 bucks or whatever it was... well worth it... i saw these holsters at a local gun show for 70 bucks
